Very late to the party here, but that sounds excellent! Funny thing, I'm sort of an old dog now, meaning I've owned my M3 for some 15+ years now, but whenever I hop into my car, I'm just in my happy place. Manually rowing gears, though tedious sometimes I'm heavy-duty traffic, I still enjoy it.

I have an SMG 2005 m3 prefer it over a manual. I've had an e36 m3 manual, e39 m5, a handful of E30s all manual. This was my first "automatic" car and I love the transmission I bought it with 75k miles and now it has 110k its had ZERO problems.

I have a 2006 SMG being converted right now to manual. Repaired 3 times. SMG is kool and more convenient but nothing beats a stick shift on a high performance car for real drivers.

​@@teflondaprince honestly i thought the smg was an absolute blast to drive. it has the raw analog feel of a manual and but being able to get quicker shifts and drive the shit out of the car with 2 hands firmly on the wheel was so much fun. i ended up swapping it because it was so problematic and finicky. obviously you cant go wrong with a good old fashioned manual, but the one is this car is a bit notchy and could defintely be better overall so i wouldnt say the manual experience is a huge upgrade over smg, if the box was better i might agree.

yup I bought mine after driving the newer M4 and prefer the E46 M3 response better. Only the V8 M3 was as good.

“As little as 30k”. I got my built na e46 m3 for $6700 with no issues. High mileage though (197,000miles). Was reliable with no leaks and had a 3.6sec 0-60.

These cars basically dont exist in Australia. Its the same for E36's. The lowest you will ever see a manual E36 M3 for is around 18-20k AUD. Manual E46 M3's start at around 30k and thats for one with around 180-200 thousand KM's which is around 100-150 thousand miles (sketchy in my head maths dont quote me on it).

It is a manual just a sequential one.If you have ever changed the clutch you would see it’s the same flywheel and pressure plate a regular manual takes.

The M3 CS is a monster! How do you like them? Definitely the 46 is a timeless and precision like track weapon in NA form!

@@ClayWong I think the M3 cs was the best choice of the F8.. Generation. The M4gts is too expensive and for daily drive to less compromisses. The M4 cs is more expensive and they produced more as the M3cs, i can see this on Pricetrend in Germany for m3cs and m4cs. My opinion, the cs is a good ending top of the 30 years first generation M3, that is what BMW wants to tell. Now we go slow in the M3/4 new Styling and Motorisation. I think i did a good choice, cause here in EU, it is the last M3 without Otto-partikel-filter.

Always loved it looks but hated the sound, waaaaay too raspy like it has a cheap exhaust. This one sounds better but it has a lot of dollars in it and still doesnt sound supergood.

Clean that steering wheel! So shiny and looks horrible tbh. Very easy to remove and quick to clean & treat the leather to get it back to the beautiful matte look with clean tri-colour stitching!

1. Manual is bulletproof, Smg is prone to catastrophic failure. 2. Smg Much better....how? 3. Smg Much quicker..... really?.....how much? 4. If Smg quicker.....only on a track? 5. I’ve had M3’s in the form of e36, e46 and now an f80, all modified. I skipped the others(e30 M3 too expensive, overpriced. E92 M3 not meant to have a V8 imho)Hands down the f80 is the best.
