Love the enthusiasm but you got quite a bit wrong. Rod bearings don't go at a fixed interval, it's down to use, if each startup can't be accounted for, the rod bearings should be done. There's a lot to do while you're in there: The tensioner and chain were updated for the vanos pump Oil squirters are updated It's good try to get an LCI sump that has the two drain plugs, there's about 2.5l of oil that's never changed with an oil change Injectors and lift pump should be changed All the high pressure lines should be changed, especially the steering lines next to the headers The vanos accumulator pipe should be changed.

I have had two E60 M5's. BMW claimed between 4.2 /4.4 o-60 times. All the things you mention is a speed killer, they are way over weight. Few years back I watched a guy in Germany's video. He took a 2006 M5, took out all the weight killers [as he called them], not necessary items. Knocked off nearly 400lbs. Car ran 0-60 times at 3.7/3.8. I know, it's a BMW,

The design of the E60 remained unchanged and the car was produced as originally designed by davide arcangeli. Since he passed away even before the design was presented and approved, 5he design team under Chris pushed really hard to get it made as conceived by Davide. Chris can be blamed for 7 series trunk, not E60s curves.

personally owned one for 5 years then sadly had to let it go, was far too unreliable and looking at the warranty bills it scared the total crap out of me ! in my owner ship it suffered from the low oil pressure to vanos ! it would cut out after a motorway drive ! the smg pump failed ! and it would constantly throw up drive train failure , , it was an absolute hoot to drive and if it was more reliable i would have kept hold of. iam now thinking about buying one to rebuild but still scares the shit out of me !
