why is it necessary to have diagnostic tools for prime? just switch the ignition on and it will take care of itself, and the pump turns off when the required pressure is reached.

Did ProTool stop priming automatically? I’m using it to bleed, like you, but it’s been priming for almost 10 minutes. Not sure if you need to manually cancel it after some time. Thanks!

I just went and primed my pump to check it out for you. It only primed for 2 minutes but the screen continued to say that priming was active. If you think it actually is still priming, you can crawl under the tank and listen to see if the pump is still on.

The system shouldn't be under pressure if it's been sitting for a few minutes. Line pressure is a different system than the rail pressure.

@@sullygtx9350 thank you. First time owning a diesel bmw- I’ve always pulled the fuel pump fuse and idled the engine until it stalls for fuel filters

@@alexudolkin2146 Gas engines that's the easy way, but if you try that with most diesels you'll air lock the rail and injectors. It might start after a few minutes of cranking but the starter and battery will be tired....if it starts.

My android head unit doesn't allow Bluetooth connections to anything other than a phone but a wifi dongle might work.

to avoid priming, fill your filter with diesel and avoid fuel dripping from lines

Need to check my filter as we speak my question is did you take of the ENTIRE plastic panel under the car? Or is there a specific spot under it where I can access the fuel filter without taking off all 25 screws on the panel cause I’ve seen most vids where people take off the whole thing

It's a smaller cover. I think it's only 4 or 5 screws.

Tune my Euro now has a plug and play fuel filter kit for the E70 and E90 that gives options for 1 and 5 micron filters and they last much longer than the factory filter. I'll be upgrading to that kit soon.

@@Bmwguy2011 On youtube, search "E70 free egr delete". You can do that trick and replace the EGR with a race pipe without a tune. However when you disable the EGR without a tune, your car will try to do an active regeneration just about every time you drive it which kills fuel economy. I can't speak for removing the DEF system without a tune. I left it hooked up until I went fully deleted and tuned.

@@sting511 K+DCAN cable off ebay, it's silver and has a switch. Then an OTG USB to USB-C adapter so I can plug the cable into my phone.

Nice short video ...doing the same thing to my F15. Great images of the work area. Don't use brake cleaner ever on rubber though ...even plastic...you re going to weaken it. Google this so next time you avoid it.
