Thank you for this video 🙏 I just got a 135i and it making this whiny noise when I accelerate and decelerate. Pretty sure its bad idler pulleys. Quick question could you maybe share the part numbers? Also is this the N55?

The bigger pulley mounts below the smaller one?

Yes. If you refer to the diagram at 14:20, the two idler pulleys are referenced as "Idler". The 75mm pulley is the one to the upper right and the 90mm pulley is at the lower left.

Hey guys, I just wanted to say THANK YOU SO MUCH for creating these step by step tutorials on all of the maintenance for the n55 135i. I just purchased a 2011 and for the last couple of weeks I have been researching the failure points of the e82 n55 and everything I have read so far you both have taken the time to show how to fix everything step by step. I really appreciate you taking the time to edit the videos from the clear instructions to the exact list of tools needed to diagrams etc. Bravo. I do have one question though regarding the crank pully pulling the belt into the engine as you mentioned. Hey Kristopher, Aiden here. I think that’s a good preventative to protect against exactly that catastrophic event happening but I would do it as a fail safe along with the oil leaks and the wear and tear of the belts itself.
