BMW E90 Custom Wrapped Shifter DIY!

In this video I show you guys how to custom vinyl wrap your automatic shifter on your E90 or E92 BMW.
I used a 3M 1080 gloss black vinyl wrap to get this done.
Overall this takes about 1 hour to complete and is pretty easy to do. GUYS you can do it without breaking the clips all you have to do it pull the top part of the shifter. When it's up all you have to do is slide up the chrome piece. That way you dont break your clios

Could this be done with the knob in place and without removing it? Just pry the silver trim off?

Removed and reinstalled the shifter, now i dont have a reverse lockout anymore! Im not sure the unlock button functions anymore. Thoughts?

i was able to get the trim out and back in within 2 minutes, putting it back on literarily took 5 seconds...

From what I can see all you had to do is slide the silver bit upwards instead of prying it back and bending/breaking the clips. Gonna try mine this weekend and report if it worked.

Yeah you can get it off without snapping the top clips easily, you can also get it back into place without breaking them but plan to fiddle with it for 1 hour. Sounds good if you manage to get it back in one piece let me know. I took it off once and put it back once prior to filming but man it's a PITA.

Good idea and good video. I was going to try to wrap my steering wheel faceplate with a satin black wrap instead of trying to spray it. What do you think?
