So finally getting around to fitting the latest version of the rear caliper brackets from Dickass. These arrived about a week after motor decided it didn't want to have any compression, so i have had them for a while and i was pretty keen to see if they fixed the previous version issues.
So after a bit of hassle from the set ordered from Aliexpress. I have been in touch with dickase directly through here, the latest version of their brakes are so much better than these were. The trick is to cut the existing cowl in the centre , maintain the dme/brake master shielding, then use a metal plate to shield each bms filter from the direct impact of the rain.

I dont think i would have had the problem if i was on recirculate. So if you are stuck, make sure the car isnt sucking air through the filters.

Probably worth checking the dme box if it was uncovered through this monsoon and you havent already since it managed to suck up that much through the cowl filters On second thoughts you've looked in there enough recently maybe you just don't bother hahaha

Didn't bmw have an issue several years ago where it spontaneously caught fire. The reason was the blower motor for the heater shorting. I'm just guessing, but maybe something to keep an eye on especially if it was soak.

They did. It was the power wire for the blower motor. This car has had that recall done.

I know you didn't want to make it public but even with the pain in the ass that it was, I'd be willing to deal with it for that outcome. Let me know, I found some other sites but would rather deal with the guys you dealt with as I'm HOPING they've corrected the brackets for all future kits.. one can only hope. I have a 335xi though so we'll see, I dont know how my brakes compare to the 335i

Looks like the rear disc vanes are pointing forward so the discs are on left to right.

Yeah, keen to see their stopping power vs the stock breaks on the other e92. Probably need similar tires or something though. You could swap the wheels over so they are the same! Nice one guys. :)

For what its worth, I go to the track with ad08r (235/255) and never had any oil problems like surge, only temp since this cars love running hot. So far for stage 1 mhd power level the ppk2 rad with CSF main radiator, water wetter x2 and mhd on track cooling is enough for 27C ambient. But I'm going to upgrade the oil cooler soon. If you wanna test this brakes hard go for a bunch of 100-20 brake passes like you would for settling pads on.

Are the pins mounted correctly? I'm looking at a still image from 9:40 timestamp, and the pins look to be adapted for the spring plate. However the pins need to be 5mm more to the "left" side, from the image. I'm not sure how it's designed, but I get the feeling that the "track" on the pin is supposed to make it held in place by the spring.

@@ZeroTo60Tube On my Alfa with genuine brembos, I used a small drift/punch to bottom out the pin because I was worried about the same thing as Rawr mentioned. If you've hit it and it wont go any further, then thats seated. On the vid, pin does look like it needs to go through more, but this might be a function of the fact they are copies, not genuine ones.

After watching this video (1:00) and having some concern of my own, I designed a 3d printed cover for the BMS filters to help prevent water from going into the blower motor. I don't know if you guys would be interested in them?

Hi Guys. I am not a BMW expert, but in my experience water leaking into the boot is most likely to be due to a rear window seal issue. Perhaps you can have one person lie in the boot with a light while another hoses water all around the window.

I had bms cowl filters but quickly went back to oem with a Bosch filter. Reason being snow in the winter.

So I had an water issue with the passenger side and it turned out to be the drain holes for the sunroof. Might be a good idea to check them!

Hi, I enjoyed the video, but have to question what the point is. Due to the high CG height a street car transfers most of the cars weight onto the front wheels during braking. Fitting stronger rear brakes will make little difference unless you first do a significant upgrade to the front brakes. So apologies if you have already done so, but, if not, the only point is cosmetic.

Yes, I mentioned this in the first vid. This was a cosmetic/curiousty “how bad can than be” mod. I think the stock brakes are actually quite good for street driving, some decent pads and rotors would have sufficed, but these cost only a little more than brand name slotted rotors, decent pads and lines. That said it has tempted me to do some circuit driving.

One tip: don't go trough a fully automatic carwash with BMS cowl filters! Don't ask me how I know. :D Other than that, they have been fine for me.

@@ZeroTo60Tube its a general practice, we usally get there at 8 am starts at 9am runs to 1pm, if no open wheel cars attend it will be open track, usally get twice the track time of QR cost $50 plus track day licence if needed, great track lots of euro spec, BMW and the occassional Lambo or GT40 attend

Coil overs are brilliant. The car really sticks well with out feeling that harsh. The drive i did on the weekend, before the rain hit, got to give it a bit of stick round a few corners and both dave and myself were blown away with how planted it was for a wot. So diff is also working well. My only complaint, its a clutched diff, it makes noises and the scare the shit out of me until i remember its the diff. Sounds like axles snapping..... but its just clutch chatter

Unfortunately no real news on them. No issues as yet, but haven't done any hard track driving which will be the test. I will say i wouldn't recommend buying them from the ali express sellers. Just not great people to do business with.

Did you the blower and oil up the shaft? You need to or your fan will stop turning. Mine rusted up but it is still working after pulling it out of the car and oiling and spinning the fan by hand.

Yes in the full series I mention it’s temporary, the Ali seller sent the wrong rear lines. I do have the new shorter ones just need to get some more fluid to do the full flush. And no, unfortunately not related to Anstead.

I’ve just seen you lift the car from the back subframe? I hate putting my e92 on the hoist I can never get the pads on the rear lift points I always lift it with the yellow arms of the hoist

It may, I do have a genuine 18 inch wheel I could try. The fronts are only 15mm away from fitting an 18 so the tears should be ok.

I notice you still have the stock rear subframe bushings. I have an extra brand new set of 034 inserts. They made a big difference on my e90. If you are interested not sure how to contact you guys privately.

I still want to see the f30 335i brembos bolt on (front only rear needs adaptors)- maybe the 2nd car can get that & put china to shame. I wouldn't put ebay brakes on mine but mine i would look at 2nd hand f30 ones

I am fairly confident these will out perform f30 335i brakes and the M3/M4 brakes for that matter as well. With the right pads they should be no different to the genuine brembos...... However whether they last the same before seals need to replacing will be another matter.

Do they bolt on to the stock e92 caliper bracket or do i bring the one from the F30 as well? Didnt know this myself but the blue f30 brakes can be found for a few hundred dollars here i believe.. EDIT: yup, used for 300-350$ per side, new from ECSTuning are 900$ per side..

I wouldn't ever put ebay parts on my car (don't look close at my intercooler / charge pipe) but would look at second hand parts factory upgraded on the newer models, im sure there are others here who would do the same

These don’t actually make any noise. But that will come down to brake pad compound.

They look great on my car, and have gotten lots of compliments, but you'd think that for a $3100US installed brake kit, BMW would have found a way to minimize that. Have to research some other pads. Maybe Akebono.

Miraculously there is no noise at all now despite there being videos here and posts on Bimmerpost where people recorded the noise and said they were told by the dealer it's normal for M-Performance brakes. Now I can move on to other things.

Nice work on the Brakes there Andrew, third time is definately a Charm. ive been reading alot on brake upgrades for my E92, and there have been talk on Coding the Upgraded brake sizes. (this is just what ive been reading, so please no one flame me for this post). The topic was mainly on the M Performance Brake upgrade from the F30, so im not 100% sure regarding the bigger brake upgrades. The theory behind this is that yes the Modulation is better, and the bite is better, however the coding helps the Proportioning Valves give the correct pressure via the DSC pump.
