My transmission does not downshift into first at a complete stop, so when I let off the brake I get a jolt forward, sometimes I get the jolt while starting to move from a dead stop. Can your friend help with this issue also?

ive been running tr 400 and tp 4 and it works pretty well tr is calculated by 630 nm at the crank * 2/3 = 416 rounds down to 400

I have a bmw with zf8hp45 transmission when on the highway in 6th gear under gradual throttle I get power cut what could cause this? I'm completely lost. I'm at around 550awhp and torque.

Likely a problem with torque limits or engine tune.

just to clarify at 6:48 so if it has factory BT CIC then you hvae to use the aux port in arm rest? If it doesn't then the aux is behind the headunit?

I think for most cars that is a safe assumption. But i have been surprised with different spec vehicles from BMW in the past.

You guys never got the Ford Expedition and I don’t think you guys got the older F150s but Mac has me inspired to put one of these in my 1998 Ford Expedition. We have a million of these transmissions here in the US and no one is using them this way. I want one in my tow rig and one in my S13!

The motec is controlling the engine. The Turbolamik is controlling the transmission.

Ive been told that you cant get the park function to work properly and that you have to put it in Neutral with the handbrake on? Is this true or does the park work?

Wanted to mention something, I just installed these in my LHD E90 and didn't have an issue with the up/down function. I suspect it might have to do with your seat module being for LHD and your car is RHD. Not sure. Also I pulled power from the footwell light to power the badge

The thing to keep in mind with converter selection is what you need it to do. Also how much torque your engine makes off boost comes in to play. If you dont need to transbrake lauch it doesnt matter. We find the BMW n57 converter works fine on the 2jz we have done in house, cars with responsive turbos. However if you throw a big turbo that doesnt do anything until 4500rpm, a diesel converter will be an issue on the transbrake.

Seems fine. We have a few cars that have done 15 events now. The oil doesnt appear contaminated. Keep in mind the 8hps slip the clutches on every single gear changs, The clutch kicks are a shorter slip than a noraml light load shift.

WHen I see one of those air filters I immediately make my opinion about the tunning... or tuner... someone should have told you, that cold air is better than hot air :)

I think you'll find the fastest twin turbo n54s in the world runs dual cones... record was only set last week. but i get your assumption. At lower power levels dual cones dont help anything. But around 500whp you will pick up power compared to any other intake available. I hope this is a lesson for you to not make assumptions. My 17t car was the fastest china turbo car in the world at the time as well. The car that ended up going faster, guess what ran dual cones. Dual cones work if you want to go fast.

@@ZeroTo60Tube that is because of the more air and for more HP more air is needed, the ideal would actually be to have them sucking air from an area where there is cold air. This filter lie you use for instance is very good when run from the bottom or any place you can get it to pull cold air.

Hello, and great job, guys!!! Does this unit have Sirius-XM built-in functionality? The reason why is a very bad problem with switching my XM satellite service from Canada to the US since it was cheaper in the USA. Now, my XM does not work. It won't display the radio code. I have tried at least 2 head units, and the same issues persist. I have spent lots of money at the dealership, and I have wasted countless hours with XM tech support and am still waiting for a resolution. Any info would be much appreciated.

What do you think about css support with an LA sleeve flanged sleeve insert vs darton sleeve? I don't like darton because the o rings in the bottom of the sleeve I have heard they are a maintenance item and need to be replaced overtime or get coolant mixing in the oil or even worse sleeves dropping and losing compression. They do dry sleeve inserts with flanges on top for s55 b58 and s58 I don't know why no one has done this yet for n54 or n55 or if someone has it hasnt been very published

Man its tough to know whats best. Most of the time when a component does fail its very hard to find a proper diagnosis. Often compents get blamed when its been caused by human error. I have a set of wet dartons which i will use soon for this cars big boy engine. Also have a billet inset like CSS.

Unfortunately i have no idea. They were not sold down here. That said most 90s models cars have room for a 8hp. They are very similar in size to a TR6060.

The turbolamik used to support the 6hp, but stopped back in 2020. The controller is worth a lot more than a 6hp and i guess if you spending the money on a controller, you may as well run the better transmission.

so i just went down the rabbit hole of these 8hp transmission especially since you can add a clutch but i question if its worth it wear to clutch packs, this i zoomed into the dash and believe it say 100,000km which is very low miles to have worn clutch packs, is it only this transmission or do these clutches wear easily and a added digital clutch just further wearing this

The transmission is not from this car. Its a retrofit. However clutch kicks dont appear to cause wear. A clutch kick or even using it for race starts slip the clutches less than light load driving.

Ive got a 2018 f36 440i big turbo. I think it's a zf 8hp50 and it handles my big turbo flex fuel b58 beautifully. Tuner thinks 700whp is going to be pushing it. What is the next step up from the 50 size? My next power jump may be pushing it on the factory transmission

I have an e90 with this problem but every thrush bush kit I see says F chasis! Do they not fit e90? Is e90 totally different ? Mine is a 2009 btw

2 Questions. 1 Why take the original key out and turn it over instead of leaving it in the vice? Both sides should be the same don't you think?. 2 Does the Cutting key and guide pin in the key that you are copying have to be the same size eg 2mm or 1.5mm. If the cutter was bigger eg 2mm and the guide pin was 1.5mm wouldn't the key that you are cutting be cutting more material because of the bigger size?

As a rule of thumb depending on what price you get some of the used parts for and what you can fab yourself, allow $20-$30k aud for the 8hp conversion. $30-40k if you pay a shop who knows what they are doing.

My radio works fine volume is fine. But for me the AUX doesn’t work, I love replaced the aux cable and connector to my iPhone and still nothing music from my phone will not play through the speakers.

Beucase at the time i knew many people that had painful amounts of money invested in htg setups, who needed Barteks help to fix them. The help never came obviously. We were trying to be hopeful at the time, instead of upsetting anyone.... So many promises never delivered.

i havent messed with n55 yet. but its likely the ccv system. Crank case vents back in to the intake. So when the engine isnt running it can make its way back to the valve cover.
