BMW E92 - Coding foldable mirrors with car key in NCS Expert

For coding you need a cable (D-CAN for 03/2007 and younger or K+CAN for 1996 to 03/2007), BMW EDIABAS and a laptop.

This is a short tutorial showing how to code a useful function in your BMW. The mirrors on your BMW will fold in by pressing the "lock"-button for one second and they will unfold automatically when you open the car. If you don´t want to fold in your mirrors then press the "lock"-button just briefly.
car / Fahrzeug: 2011 BMW E92 335i
module / Steuergerät: NFRM
function / Funktion: "ASP_KOMFORT_EINKLAPP" or
"SPIEGEL_KOMFORT_EINKLAPP"
(depending on the year and model of the car)
Important: A condition that it works is that the function "KOMFORTSCHLIESSUNG_FB" from the module "CAS" is active.
You can code this function on the same way.

Hey mate, I've got an E90, if I get the cable and the software and a Windows laptop (I'm currently a Mac user), I should be able to code the foldable mirrors as well right? Also by any chance do you know how to code the beep when locking and unlocking (my car doesn't have the alarm system) or do I actually need the alarm system to be able to have the beep? On a side note, I do have a friend in Germany who has helped me buy the black grilles for my car, I just need to collect it from him. Haha.

Hi alex! Unfortunately yes, you need the alarm system for the acustic signal during locking and unlocking. To code the foldable mirrors is possible.

+James L You can choose "Expertenmodus" or "Expertenmodus 2.0" like in my video. It works with both. I just don't have the profile "Expertenmodus", only the 2.0 version of it.

I don't know it exactly, but I think it's better if you have installed the complete EDIABAS (Inpa, NCS Expert, WinKFP) and configured it correctly.

Hi! I don't know it exactly, but the steps should be the same. What modules and functions you have depends on your car. You need the software INPA. Some shops sell it together with the cable (In the description is a link where I bought mine. It is also possible with other software. Do some research, in forums you can find enough to read.

+James L Don't know exactly what this is.. some kind of special equipment. (Like the "Light Package" or something ^^ and maybe with this there is a module more in the car.) This was just an additional comment in the coding list.

The car filmed from the outside is a 2009 E90 facelift sedan. The coding part is done at my 2011 E92. It works on all E9X models after 03/2007 whether facelift or non facelift. (Before 03/2007 you just need a K+CAN cable instead of D-CAN)

Yes. The only requirement is that your car has electrically folding mirrors.

C ozturk D-can is enough for you. For older cars from 1996 - 03/2007 you need a k+can cable.

+James L Hi James! Select "e60" instead of "e89" (at 1:00min in the video) for your E60. (The other steps like in the video.) Specifically for the E60: To code the "folding mirrors with key" set "BEIKLAPPEN_B_KOMFORTSCHL" to "aktiv". You find this coding value in the module "KGM" (for model year 04). (If not try module "TMBT" or "TMFT"). (A condition that this function work is that "KOMFORTSCHLISSUNG_FB" in the module "CAS" is "aktiv".) (Read out, manipulate and code the values on other module on the same way like in the video.) For more functions that you can code on your E60 like the "headlights by unlock the car" or "numberplate light by unlock the car" try a google search like "e60 coding list". Another option is to search in some forum´s. Many of these have coding sections where you can find coding values for your E60.

Hi mate, I am from Australia and I have an Australian BMW E92 M3 2008 model with old Australian CCC iDrive and would like to swap it with a new Australian CIC iDrive system. Would you be able to code it to my car's VIN# so all features including navigation, MDrive, BMW Services/Internet, Office, bluetooth audio streaming...etc. are unlocked and working fine? Sorry I'm not a professional. To change the iDrive system is not an easy job. Better you search a coder/tuner, who is specialized on bmw coding.

+James L Try ASP_BORDSTEIN in module "KGM". This only works for the passenger mirror and the button to adjust the wing mirrors must set to the driver wing mirror.

hey man i followed every step it doesnt work and my car now unlocks and flashes light but when i click on lock button it doesnt flash anymore and interior lights stay on even after locking.. did u experience that and do you know how to reset? thanks

+Makram Junior Doumit A condition that it works is that the function "KOMFORTSCHLIESSUNG_FB" from the module "CAS" is active. You can code this function on the same way. (On some models this function is not standard on "aktive") To reset just code with the old FSW_PSW.TRC (rename it to .MAN too) or if you haven't make a backup of this file, just set the function back to "nicht_aktiv" and code the module with these file.

ok yes perfect i recoded back and made a backup for the future. So what i should do now is go to komfortshiessung_fb and switch that to aktiv and then switch spiegel einklap wtv to aktiv too? (can i do both in the same time in the same text file or seperate coding/writing). Lastly, you say the cas module but do i still go with nfrm when u click process ecu ? thanks for the help man!

+Makram Junior Doumit No Problem! :) You must code "SPIEGEL_KOMFORT_EINKLAPP" to "aktiv" and "KOMFORTSCHLIESSUNG_FB" to "aktiv" too. These values are on different modules. (SPIEGEL_KOMFORT_EINKLAPP on NFRM and KOMFORTSCHLIESSUNG_FB on CAS) That means you must read out the module NFRM, change the value of SPIEGEL_KOMFORT_EINKLAPP, code the module NFRM with these text file and THAN you read out the module CAS, change the value of KOMFORTSCHLIESSUNG_FB and code the module CAS with the ("new") text file. Code CAS exactly on the same way like NFRM (just select CAS instead of NFRM --> the step at 1:25min and at 4:40min) and change KOMFORTSCHLIESSUNG_FB instead of SPIEGEL_KOMFORT_EINKLAPP. If you have more questions, just ask! :D

Hello, I just tried this and it's not working. I changed both values in the video to aktiv, saved the file, created the MAN file and followed all steps. When I hit the lock button on the key fob, nothing happens. I held the lock button down for several seconds and I didn't get anything. I'll appreciate your help, danke!

Edgar Viorato You need a OBD-2 cable and the bmw ediabas software. The software was free and included in the purchase of the cable. If you install and configure the software correctly (with a manual) and do the coding with a manual, nothing can go wrong (in the theory). The actual coding takes around 5 min and is very easy. But if you want to code it yourself, i would recommend you to get some basic knowledge in coding (ncs expert).

Maybe some confusing marketing strategies and politics. :D Other markets, other features. example: for the us market you have "closing windows with key" as a standard feature but not the opening function. For the german market it is just turned around. So all cars have the same module, but some functions are just deactivatet.
