It's CA 39 aka San Gabriel Canyon Rd. On google maps it shows that it connects up to the Angeles Crest Hwy (CA 2) but the north 2 or 3 miles have been closed since the 80s due to landslides/deemed unrepairable. What you should do is drive up CA 39 all the way to the view point at the top (where you'll find the gate that blocks the section that's been closed for 40+ years), drive back down to E Fork Rd, turn left onto it and take it down to drive Glendora Mountain Rd. One of my absolute favorite loops you can do in this area.

Was up here a few weeks ago. Very nice drive and views. The wife was in the car with me so I couldn't really enjoy it like this 😆 Wished Ihad something lighter and smaller. Gets real tight in some turns.
