BMW f25 Tow Hitch Error repair

Welcome, in this episode you can see how I diagnosed and repaired a BMW f25 with a tow hutch error. the AHM module that handles the tow hitch system is affected by water and needs to be replaced. first I make sure that the module has supply voltage and communication in the CAN network.

I sure your 7 series engine compartment is much cleaner. How this people manage to damage this modules inside the trunk (I've seen a few already), is too humid, they spill something or they leave the trunk open when it was raining!? Is little bit of a mystery for me.

when I want to fold the towbar, I press the button, you can hear some kind of cracks, probably the work of the electric motor but the towbar does not fold. what do you think could be the problem? My is 2013, 4x4, diesel

Hello , you need to make a complete diagnosis of that system but probably the tow hitch mechanism is bad and need to be replaced

​@@MOvidiuCan the mechanism (behind the "sleeve") be lubricated? Two days ago, at -10°C, the tow hitch didn't quite want to fold back in! I towed a (broken) car about 20-30 into a building (shop) and had to bend 90° to the left. Maybe the hitch was not quite locked up when starting towing that old Hyundai SUV!? My car is a 2011 X3 F25 30d.

The problem is that in many countries (like Sweden) the tow hitch must be fully functional as of from the factory.

That one is a little bit tricky because I brought it personally from SEG Shenzhen! The biggest electronics market in the world, When I visited China! Was extremely cheap and a Chinese brand, At this moment, I don't have it anymore! I moved out and sold everything that I had!
