Yes! The results are finally in! On Pump Gas 98 RON (93 octane) with a limited stock HPFP we made 246 RWKW @31psi on a Dyno Dynamics Dyno, this is equivalent to 370WHP on a DynoJet.
we made 230RWKW @26/27psi on Dyno Dynamics Dyno, this is equivalent to 345WHP on a Dynojet

Custom Tune pushing peak boost of 31psi
XHP Stage 3 Transmission Flash
Afe 400cpsi highflow downpipe (Modified)
VRSF FMIC
MST Cold air intake
FTP Inlet (modified)
FTP Chargepipes
FTP Catch Can
N55 EFR6253 (Stock EWG N55 Turbo)
NGK 97506 gapped to 0.022"
Stock HPFP (This pump limits how much power we can make on this turbo)
Stock LPFP
Engine Specs:
- Flanged sleeves (we changed block setup since part 3 for more power potential).
- 84mm CP Carillo Pistons
- Max Speeding Rods H Beam Conrod with ARP2000 Rod Bolts
- ACL Tri-metal Racing ConRod Bearings
- ARP2000 EVO X 10x 11mm Headstuds
- ARP2000 10x 10mm Mainstuds
- Athena Cut-Ring Head Gasket
- Balanced Rotating Assembly
- Stock N20 Cylinder Head with modified spark plug seats to prevent cracking (tends to be common on N20 cylinder heads to crack in this area)
Project Goals:
Sleeper 328i to be used for Daily driver so reliability is key. Could have upgraded to an M3 but wanted a project to take the N20 a little further. There is not much information on the N20 and want to be able to share what these N20's are capable of. Will convert into a track car down the line but would then to to look into fabricating a new Baffled oil pan to prevent oil starvation.
Budget:
A little bit of background in regards to the build and choices on parts. This particular project is not meant to be a budget project but neither is it supposed to be an expensive one. What we've tried to do is through research on parts look at the benefits of putting together a solid reliable build within a particular budget. We could have got all the same parts from the same manufacturers at the top end but did not make sense for what we wanted to achieve. We put this together to appeal to a particular price point and open up possibilities.

Absolutely love seeing this, I can’t wait to get my bottom end parts ordered and get a custom tune from you guys. I have all of my supporting mods besides hpfp and lpfp. Super happy there’s support for this n20.

We can't wait to upgrade fuel system and go for somewhere around 450whp! This thing is amazing to drive, and to see an N20 take 33psi and not blow up is truly insane :)

Hi guys, I’ve got a stock 328i n26, with bm3 stage 1 and I end up getting a drivetrain error with code 120308 boost pressure too low. Could it be a boost leak? Do you guys know of common places where this can happen?

Hey, have a look at the coupling connections of the chargepipes known failure point. If you are using stock chargepipes they are known to crack and leak under pressure, the stock DV is also known to crack and leak.

Ok so as far as pricing, while its neither a budget or overly expensive build what would you say the approximate cost was in total, for someone who wants a shop to do something similar

So given the added development on this platform we have made (New content coming soon), but it has also been touched on in this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/eavLkmWvasmajtE So with the changes to move to a Darton Wet Sleeve setup - which effectively costs the same as Flanged liners + Closed Deck factoring turbo, labour etc You're looking at around 24,000-36,000 AUD Engine alone is going to place you somewhere around the 16,000-30,000 AUD mark depending on configuration (power goal requirements etc) Turbo setup alone on average costs about $5000-7000 AUD . This setup sat at 6500 AUD for the N55 EWG turbo retrofit We have a variety of engine configurations you can look at with varying pricing structures navardituned.com/collections/built-motors

I have 2014 f30 328i, I have a bm3 staged 2, catless Down pipes, upgrade blowoff value precision race works coils, upgrade charge pipe, Mishi Moto Oil catch can I was wondering if I dyno tune how much hp I’ll be running

Custom Dyno Tune, depending on what Dyno you use would be around 280-300WHP on 93/98 RON on Dynojet, or 185-200RWKW on Dyno Dynamics/Mainline. But end of the day results can and will vary as fuel quality, elevation, humidity, Intake air temps etc all affect the end result, Dyno is better to be used as a tool to see the gains over Stock

Hey aussie, I am FBO stage 2 BM3 stock turbo, im curently making 320 hp crank Car is running perfect at 71,500 miles, i want more power without upgraing rods and pistons, What turbo would you recomend without blowing up my motor? Is it worth getting upgraded turbo at 71k miles if im planning on keeping the car untill its dies? Lets say i do upgrade my turbo, do i need to replace timing chain?

If you haven't done the timing chain I suggest getting it done, it is problematic. Honestly depending on your power goals either a stage 1 turbo or strait to a N55 stock turbo with Upgraded Hpfp for both would be recommended as we've seen issues with stage 1 turbos in cold winter months have issues with HPFP on 93/98RON. @@NavardiTuned my goal with the stock block/ stock internals, is 350HP to the wheels, while daily driving the car, you think it’s possible with just upgraded turbo? What do you think I should do to get that power? And what I’d the max Torque on a N20?

@@slow.320i2 550NM at the crank is the max safe torque the rods can handle. Depending what dyno you use 350whp on a stage 1 turbo is possible on E85, 93 you'd be pushing it. However Upgraded HPFP required for E85, E85 on stock turbo on a DynoJet would see somewhere from 320-350whp.

@@NavardiTuned that’s interesting, so i live in california and we’re known to have low fuel quality and 91 is my max, what would you recommend for the 350whp stage 1 turbo on 91 ? or go e85 with with stage 1 and upgrade fuel pump ect.

Here's what I learned, If you have the N20, just run a simple tune with DP (~21psi) and enjoy it for what it is. If you want power, go buy a bigger engine.
