Thanks, Auto repair guys, for the complete, useful and almost non-stop video! The modern BMW engines are really complicated! Too many spare parts and manipulations for changing chain and its silensers. Why they use on the factory one-row timing chain? The two-row is more dependable. Good luck in your job, guys!

If your build date is later than 03/2015 you should be good but some 2015 models were built in 2014

X-drive oil pan. I am in the middle of it. Trying not to remove the front diff, lower the subframe 2 inches with bolts still in, and loosening the 3 bolts at the bottom of each engine mount and raise the engine by support bar. Good luck to me I guess.

I just finished mine as well. Now getting a code that I’m over boosting. Did you have anything happen after your was complete? Also white smoke.

@@braydenwelshimer3873 Isn't the wastegate electronically controller? U might need to reset adaptation. White smoke still even after 15 mins of running? It could be just fuel in exhaust. It could be oil in exhaust too. Otherwise, big trouble.

@@saurabhsnrg 100% positive, couldn't finish the job myself cause the passenger axle required a service on my car and I told the dealership I went to about the timing chain replacement that I just performed. The dude told me that SULEV vehicles are subject to warranty up to 150,000 miles.

@@saurabhsnrg well shit lol. then you might as well do it to gain the experience of working on the car then, just keep in mind you'll be spending close to 3k in parts and specialty tools. Also be careful if you do in fact have and xdrive model the passenger side axel is really difficult to get installed and you might have to disassemble the hub to gain clearance to get the axle in straight.

@@EnVo7FCP kit is less than 1000, you’ll need specialty tools, that’s another 400, plus specialty bits from harbor freight for less than 100, it’s not that expensive. It is a big job though, be prepared for few days of work, slow and steady
