Beautiful country! Great video and very well done. I worked in Panama a few months back in the 90’s and loved it. Never got to Columbia then, but I’ll be there soon on my new 2023 BMW F750 GS. A lot like yours but light white color scheme. I love it. Thanks for sharing your ride. Hope you made it home in time for your afternoon tea!

Thank you for the great videos! I was recently in Colombia and hope to return soon. - it is a beautiful country. I live in the desert in California. I have a 2020 750GS and frequently ride on gravel/sandy roads (not technical) and most often must stand on the pegs. In your videos, you seldom, if ever, appear to be “on the pegs,” yet seem to do very well. Is it your skill, the difference in terrain and/or the GS? Please keep the videos coming - They are very helpful and enjoyable. Thank you

Thanks, Jeff. I appreciate the comments and kind words. Glad you like Colombia and appreciate the beauty, it's an amazing country. Even better with a motorbike! Yes, I'm mostly seated on off-road trails, and perhaps only go on the pegs on inclines. I think most people, in my experience, stand up because they think they need to. Maybe in anticipation, I don't know, but I've always been more comfortable sliding forward and back on the seat and using my knees on the tank. I'll stand if I'm on tight corners going slow, to shift more weight to balance. But other than that, the lower center of gravity works better for me. On any bike. Yes, I will keep more videos coming. Thanks again.

So nice to see your able to be out and ride. It’s a little too early here but in the end of March I think it will be possible. Today the roads are mostly dry but it can be icy on some spots where water collected. But there use to be a lot of salt on the bigger roads and I don’t want salt on my bike. The smaller roads like the one in the video is covered with ice. Yesterday I sold one of my bikes, the Yamaha XV950 Bolt, so now I only have the 750GS.
@MotoBrit2 жыл бұрын
Yes, always able to ride here anytime. I sometimes forget there's many bikers anxiously praying for an early Spring like I used to. Especially when I lived in Switzerland, because you would get good days as early as January... and they don't use salt there I don't think... something about killing the flowers. I bet you're sad to see the Bolt go... I nearly bought one of those years ago, but went with the Honda Shadow in the end. Hope you get riding weather soon.
@JoonesAdventuresMC2 жыл бұрын
@@MotoBrit Yes the feelings about the selling of the bolt is dual or how to say. It’s a really nice bike and it gave me a lot of memories an awesome riding, but I haven’t ride it since I bought the BMW so it would better if it could give someone else the joy. I also got decent money for it even though I sold it to the dealer. At least I think so. I bought it for 78000 skr and I got 62000 skr for it six and a half years and 23000 km later. I would probably have been able to sell it for 72-75000 skr to a private buyer but it very convenient to sell to the dealer. When I bought the BMW they dealer offered around 45000 skr for the bolt but now they where out of used bikes So I guess it was the right time to sell

I very much enjoyed this vid and the scenery. I’m getting an f750gs myself but because I’m having it factory lowered, I cannot get the adjustable rear suspension. Did you changing to enduro change only the throttle response or the rear suspension réaction as well? And if it did change it, was there a huge improvement over the standard riding suspension? I realize this is an older video but if you can, Id be very interested to know. Also is it dangerous over there in Colombia right now? Looks so peaceful.
@MotoBrit Жыл бұрын
Firstly, it is not a dangerous country. Netflix and Hollywood still make money from it's dangerous past, and the rest of the world think it's still like that. It's not. It's safe, and very friendly. They're catching up with the rest of the modern world, so there's still some issues, but it's such a beautiful country. Ok, your question... The Enduro mode reduces the throttle response and softens the suspension, it also adjusts the traction. It is noticable, yes, more the throttle response. If you're just riding over a gravel road, or hard mud and stones, you probably don't need it, but it's worth using if it's wet, steep and a bit challenging. Enjoy your 750gs when you get it.
@hellkath Жыл бұрын
@@MotoBrit thank you for the reply! You’re really making me want to go there, it’s so beautiful. Nice to know about the suspension, I think I’ll be just fine without it as I’m not really looking to ride as an enduro machine, just light gravel and dirt roads. Thanks again and happy riding!!

I love the way your bike sounds. I have the same with Akropovic exhaust. Since you have deleted your bike's resonator, have you notices any problem or differences? I really want to do the same but I have heard it might increase the temperate in the cat.converter and head cylinder, I guess because of less restricted flow. You sound like someone who pays attention to details on your ride and I would appreciate any input.
@MotoBrit2 жыл бұрын
I've not had any problems taking off the exhaust resonator. It is simply there to muffle the sound, albeit slightly, from the piston chambers as they 'suck squeeze bang and blow'... well, mainly the 'bang' phase... and have no direct link to temperature control at all. I'm 99% certain of that. The catalyst does have some control I believe, but I've not touched that at all, and don't ever plan too. I've probably done over 7,000 km with the new exhaust and mid-pipe replacement of the rez, and had a minor and major service with no warnings from the computer diagnostics either... So I'm certain it has no long term effect. I might do a video specifically on this actually, as even though I've mentioned it a few times, I've kind of breezed over it, so maybe it's worth some specific attention and explanation, as I know a lot of people don't like the standard exhaust and look at upgrade options. Anyway, I hoped that helped. Thanks for your support by the way, watching and commenting. Much appreciated.
@MotoBrit2 жыл бұрын
... also, my exhaust is not Akropovic... It's a Remus Black Hawk. BMW don't support Remus like they do the Akro, but again, no problems with it at all.

I thought that little niggle with the pickup was going to turn ugly for a moment; as it turned out it didn't even seem as passive aggressive as some of the milder exchanges experienced here in the UK. Still using the Navigator, I see - it's an expensive bit of kit though, so I should imagine an item you'd be naturally reluctant to ditch.
@MotoBrit2 жыл бұрын
+Len Scapoff ... yes, road rage doesn't happen here, even in proper traffic. Maybe because no-one is ever in a rush, haha. I've certainly become more relaxed on the roads, even though random acts of stupidity are more common! Yes, the Nav is still there, although I never use it. It just comes on automatically, and I haven't got around to disassembling the mount. I'm thinking about starting to use it on longer trips, so I'll leave it for now.

Hows it going? I ride only on the roads, so i use dynamic 99% of the time Ive tried the rain mode in the rain, but find it a bit sluggish, and ive tried the road mode, its seems to soften up the suspension, and its probably the "nicer" of the modes in that respect, however, i prefer dynamic, although im by no means an aggressive rider Cheers for the post🍻🍻👍👍👍
@MotoBrit2 жыл бұрын
+gee cee ... Hey, how you doing? Yeah I'm about the same always dynamic, even in most rainy conditions. Yes, rain mode is very sluggish, it softens the throttle too much for my liking, but it's good for corners in the rain, just not if you need quick acceleration. I like Enduro mode in the mud, but if the unsurfaced roads are dry, I'm usually in Dynamic! Thanks for your continued support, much appreciated. 🤘🏻😎🤘🏻

Why did you choose the 750GS and not the 850GS, which is more appropriate for those terrains in Colombia?
@MotoBrit2 жыл бұрын
+Candelario Dimas Ortega... Good question. The main reason was the height. I'm 5'9" and can put both feet almost flat on the 750. However, on the 850 I am on my toes both sides. It is possible to lower the seat, but you sacrifice ground clearance which is an issue on cornering (lean angle) and obviously on general off-roading. I determined that my off-road riding would never be too extreme, so deemed the 750 to be the overall best choice. I don't seek out fallen trees to ride over or frequent river crossings like all the promo videos, a bit of shallow water now and then, some dirt tracks and muddy roads, is my limit.
@candimas012 жыл бұрын

looks good pal, how does the caste wheels stand up to off-road? I am looking at buying some spoked wheels for mine, which will cost about £2,500
@MotoBrit2 жыл бұрын
+J-Bean-Machine ... cheers, mate. Yeah, these wheels are ok, I would prefer spoked wheels and came very close to replacing them when I dented the casties a few months ago when I 'smashed' through a big pothole at speed. About the same cost for me here as yours back home... just seems a tad steep for a slight upgrade. Personally, I mean. I'm used to them now since getting the front one repaired for only about £20 equivalent. But spoked wheels look much nicer obviously, and have the additional flexibility to bounce through more demanding terrain. But the roads in this vid are about as rough as it gets for me nowadays.
