Thanks for mentioning the cast vs spoked wheels on this. The cast wheels would be exactly why I would buy this version over the 850. I'd rather spend my time riding rather than have to check 200 spoke nuts every time take the bike out. And, give me tubeless tires any day. Granted, I'd be riding probably 70% paved, but the spoked wheel maintenance doesn't appeal to me.

I usually don't give advice but you wrote the comment first bike ever. As a rider of over 300,000 miles my tip is always keep an eye on traffic in front of you till you have a summer of riding experience. I had my first crash at 600 miles looking down at my tachometer worried about breaking in my engine properly. I ride mostly in Utah, Idaho, Colorado but have ridden in over 10 countries. Good luck, very nice first bike choice you made.

I live for advice and appreciate any given. I have really been trying to practice what I have learned in the MSF courses I have taken. Riding defensively as much as possible. I even leave the gadgets at home when on most rides for the first year anyways. Thank you for the kind words! Cheers!

Done 6000 miles on mine now, purchased stiffer springs for the front from touratech, having them fitted soon. Done a lot of upgrades to mine already, next upgrade is spoked wheels, setting me back a couple of grand. But she's nearly ready to be a proper offroad bike.

I don't get it, what's the point of taking an engine capable of making 90HP and 63LB-FT of torque and neutering it to 77HP/57LB-FT? Might as well keep the same configuration and make the platform lighter and lower if you want a more manageable bike for the smaller crowd. I really don't get it... Btw, at 1:30 - 493lbs is not 334kgs, it's actually 223kgs. 334kgs is like Goldwing territory or something. lol

The F750GS can be restricted down to be compliant with the A2 license in Europe. Presumably that meant they had to use the different camshaft for lower output.

The old f800gs is up from 85 hp to 95 hp in the new f850gs. But the same increase is only from 75hp to 77hp in f700gs-f750gs upgrade. Really difficult to figure out why.

Jaime - very nice to see you back in the saddle after your accident. Beyond the obvious differences between the 750 and 850 - as BMW defines these respective segments - I think the gentle throttle response of the 750 will benefit those who go into the dirt, and while more budget oriented, the 750 definitely has a place in the BMW line up.

It's not a light bike. Just under 500lbs. Add body armour, that puts it well over 500lbs. I just bought one last fall, and it rides great. Very well balanced. The cruise control is why I bought this one. The only things I don't like, is that it's top heavy. The F700 and the F800 had the fuel tank under the seat, which lowered the centre of gravity. The other thing, which can be fixed, is the rear brake pedal is stupid low. I'll have to buy a pedal riser. Also, as you mentioned, the windshield is none-existent. I bought a Madstad, which I heard works great. Still waiting for delivery on that. Oh yes, and the none adjustable from suspension, which is not a deal breaker, but at that price point, it should be adjustable. I'm eying the Transalp, which is new to North America last year. I sat on one and it feels light in comparison and is about the same seat height with lower options, like the f750gs. No cruise and tubed spoked wheels, though. Nothing is ever perfect! They make you spend money on upgrades. It's a scam!

I traded my 700 GS with low suspension for a 1250 GS, also with low suspension. The new bike is fantastic, but I miss the lower seat and lighter weight of the 700, which was very agile and great offroad. The 750 must be similar.

What's lighter Alloy or Spoked? Am I right in thinking that the BMW spoked wheels take tubeless tires? Btw I understand that (crazily) the "750" actually has the same motor (same c.c.) as the 850. Check with BMW if you think I'm pulling your leg... Thanks, Pete.

Hi; thanks nice honest review. BMW should offer an Adventure version on this F750GS with spoked wheels with tubeless rims, a skid plate & better suspensions (inverted adjustable front fork) & i would highly consider buying one (i would keep seat height as it is & 19 inches front wheel as im a short rider). I know some people will told me to buy an F850GS but his seat height is to high for me & price is very expensive; its why i would love to see & own a future new F750GSA Adventure version 😘😍🥰❤️. Cheers from Montreal. I actually own a CB500X. A new future Africa Twin 750cc or a CB650X would also be very interesting & tempting. Lets dream! for now, i wait to see if the lowered version of the new Ténéré 700 seat height could be accessible & manageable for my short height. Lets see when they will be available in Canada next year.

There's a huge difference between ”designed” and ”manufactured”. Bmw like Apple and most other companies design and spec their products to be built in a certain way to a certain quality. They contract a Chinese factory to manufacture it with specific methods and materials. I'd never buy a Chinese motorcycle company’s product but if buy a BMW manufactured in China.
