I actually think the new F80 M3 is really the reincarnation of the E46 M3 saloon we all want, but never got. And despite the turbocharging and the bad noise (which can be fixed with an aftermarket exhaust) I still love it.

I do love the m3/m4's e90 and F80 series but... The sound which a c63 amg makes is out of this world.

THE SOUND IS NOT BEING PUMPED THROUGH THE SPEAKERS. How many BMW engineers does it take to get the public to understand this. Geesh. All they did was construct the interior in a way that the engine noise would sound louder from the inside. However, if it were the speakers making the sound I would then turn the volume way up because IMO the stock exhaust is not loud enough. BMW M Performance parts or aftermarket systems are a must.

Its so true the heavy weight feel on BMWs, my father owns a 335i and damn trying to make a 180 turn at 5-10 mph was a pain lol. Still the best brand for daily cars, but im always a Porsche fanboy. 911 GT3 FTW

davidrobert2007 I used to think the same thing. E60 M5 was my favorite car of all time. Until I started driving them, that is. The SMG is very sluggish and not fit for DD. If you were to even consider an E60, get the 6MT and get ready to pay out for service.

I don't get why anyone would be pessimistic about the sound of a straight 6 turbo BMW. There are so many good sounding turbo straight 6s out there, and BMW always make nice sounding cars. So what if the old car was a V8? More cylinders doesn't equal better noise. The numerous videos on this channel of lots of different engine sounds is proof of that. Pretty much any engine configuration can sound amazing if done right, and straight 6 turbo has been done well so many times before.

Love this car, would have one over an RS4 or C63, not sure I would have this over the M4 though, still haven't seen an F80 in the flesh though. I love AMG but I'd say more of a BMW fan than Merc, but it depends on which sector of the market you look at.

Everyone said putting the M3/M4 steering in sport mode you better be awake, far to quick better off in comfort, so sport mode for gear box & ride & comfort for steering

great video and great overall perspective of why the BMW is better than its rivals. One more point I will add, is that of all its rivals, the BMW offers a manual gearbox for that ultimate driving experience, which automatically makes it a winner over pretty much every car out nowadays for me, even some 6 figure cars. I'm glad BMW's ///M division is still on point, despite all the economic pressure and modern time gadgetry.

I really miss the sound of the V10 the M5 had. The new M3 really does look good, but In my opinion It has nothing on the E92. The E92 looked so much more agressive and sounded so much better.

As for going turbo I believe this would be better the v8 in long run as far as progression just because 3.0l straight 6's seem to be great motors over time vs the big v8s. but on the other hand a carbon fiber drive shaft? imagine repair costs if it were to go bad!!!!!

The six cylinder is getting way too much hate. BMW have always been brilliant at six cylinder engines, even my old 3.0 E9 motor is a sweet engine. It's got loads of high end power and nice low down torque which makes cars so drivable and liveable (even though v8s have low down torque). I think the new engines are fantastic.

Nice car. I would have the Lexus though. Upgrade the shock absorbers (or not, need to drive personally) and have a car that will never break down along with whats basically a V8 race engine under the bonnet and the most striking looks of any of the coupes..
