Excellent explanion and showing of details on the bushings. The photos on the website dont show the details and it just made me think it was just a different color bushing over the other ones. Great job!

The bush on the tail of the E46 control arm that he refers to at the beginning can be changed out for THE Z4M BUSH. The Z4M bush is the E46 equivalent of the offset M3 bush for the E36 which was a game-changer for caster angle and steering feel as well as being stiffer. They are only £48 a pair from UK dealers so they're easy to obtain and fairly cheap. Like the E36 M3 offset predecessor, care is required when fitting in order to position the offset correctly. The hole should be toward the outside so that the control arm is moved out and foward thus moving the strut forward and increasing caster. (A blend of up and out produces 70% of that extra caster and a little anti-dive geometry if you are so 'inclined'!)

i’m looking to get new lollipop bushings for my e36, honestly debating on just getting the entire front suspension bushings all together but would those bushings in the video and i’m sure what your mentioning, fit on a us. spec E36 m3? with regular m3 control arms
@jimf6713 жыл бұрын
@@alexvazquez6873 The first thing that you need to consider with bushes is that, rather like what regularly happens with dampers, people are fooled into thinking various after-market bushes are wonderful because they improve the handling of their car when they are used to replace their original WORN bushes: so they are comparing the wrong conditions! The E36 M3 is a lovely piece of work and new standard condition is a good place to be. There is more than one standard front geometry for the E36 M3 even in Euro specs and I have no experience of the US spec. So take care with selecting the right bits for your car. Typically, here is the parts list for a 1996 M52 US-spec M3 from RealOEM: www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/partgrp?id=BG93-USA-01-1996-E36-BMW-M3 Digging around in these parts lists sometimes reveals interesting possible improvements just from the BMW part bin! Even though BMW suspension tends to be a work of art as standard, like most rear-drive cars with strut suspension at the front, they usually benefit greatly from an increase in front spring rate. And if you really feel you have to lower it, don't go too low at the front.

what is the suspension on the M5 in the video? Perfect stance! I am looking to replace my poly bushing on the thrust arms but not sure what I want. I am kind of annoyed at the harshness of the current busing vs OEM liquid filled which were nice and comfy. How much harsher will it be with your Spherical bushings? Spherical VS OEM liquid filled vs Poly that I have now. In addition, do you sell a tool to press the bushings into the rear thrust arms? Thank you.

my question is why aren't the bushings pre-greased in the preinstalled option. my shop put them but didn't grease them. I figure that set is wasted. I bought another and when my mechanic came over with his 4" grease gun, all the grease squirted out right next to the Zerc fitting? I don't think I can use these if I can't get grease into them

I’d buy another set for my next build if you guys have the delrin polyurethane inserts for sale separately. Polyurethane doesn’t last forever, and have a service interval. These are advertised as “serviceable” and by that they mean greaseable

In the last month I purchased 2 items from TMS website and NONE of them fit my E36 M3 despite the description specifically saying those parts fit my E36 M3. The e36 Exhaust hanger kit does not fit E36 M3, it comes with donuts not gaskets. The steering rack I ordered is not the factory one, but a Z3 rack that requires some minor customization to fit an M3. After calling and bitching, TMS sent a replacement rack that they sourced from another vendor (don't have E36 M3 stock racks at all???), but I was stuck sourcing exhaust mount kit myself. Needless to say, TMS left a bad taste in my mouth. My best advice is to peruse the website, then call and ask ALL the possible questions before placing a phone order. Ordering off the website can leave you with a pile of expensive parts for someone else's car.....

They are Apex Arc-8's, 18x10 et25 square, re-bored to e39 74.1 hub diameter. The fronts require a 10mm spacer to clear the strut tube. With 275/35's on all 4 corners there was light rub in the front on occasion. -1.5* camber and a light fender roll took care of that and further improved front turn-in. The car is very well balanced on this setup.

What is the process for repacking the e46 m3 monoball fcab with grease? I'm leaning towards buying it, but am not familiar with regreasing.

These bearings have a grease fitting built into the anodized housing, simply use any grease gun with a nozzle tip to quickly and easily grease the bearing. We offer a service kit that comes with the recommended grease and nozzle adapter for a traditional grease gun: goo.gl/AiJ2Ak
