One dumb question, how come bikers don’t have radar detectors? I love bikes but, never learned to ride... one big regret I have in life. I’m mid 40’s now and disabled so, I don’t see it happening. That’s one reason why I like your channel is I get to watch something I never got to accomplish. These videos bring me a lot of joy. Thank you for sharing

The Beemer has an extended swing arm. Does this mean other mods? I’ve ridden an early BMW R1000R and it was definitely stronger and faster than my St1300. I also had as my first new bike a 74 Kaw Z1 way before I knew how to ride a fast bike. I spent four years and 50K miles learning that bike. It was my last bike with a chain because I hated taking care of chains and sprockets.

Hey legit curiosity here because I see it at the shop all the time too; why do so many guys who just want straight out highway top end speed and power buy the M and RR model bikes? I mean if you never go to the track and don’t even own a track suit your wasting the extra money an R1M or ZX10RR or S1000RR commands over a normal R1 or ZX10R/S1000R model. Power differences are slim to none so guys pay for top notch adjustable suspension and handling characteristics that they don’t need when they just wanna make a bunch of horsepower and go 220+ In the straights lol. I’ve always wondered the logic behind it.

The Green Knight I absolutely didn’t say anything about people not riding their bikes, I said why would you only run it in a straight line if you bought the model meant to carve corners. These guys are simply wringing the straight line performance out of their machines; which a base model would do identically to the R/M models so why bother? A ZX10RR vs a ZX10R in a straight line on the highway is a riders race. Same goes for an R1 vs R1M, the only place you will see a difference is on track, so aside from “bragging rights” you just wasted your purchase of a thorough track bike to wind gears out on I95. And really a WW2 tank collector is what your going to use as an analogy? Did I say why aren’t guys beating on their numbers matching 70 Chevelle SS big block? No because it makes sense to collect something of actually collectors value. A track pack on your liter bike doesn’t mean at all it will be a collectors piece. I have a pristine Kawi Z1 of the 1972 variety. Yea that is technically a sporty bike but it’s become a garage queen. That’s because it’s actually a rare and classic item no longer built. I can go to my local Yamaha dealer and cut a check for an R1M right now, that’s not exactly rare. Come to think of it I could go purchase a ZX10RR and an R1M both right now within 50 miles of my house. Find me a WW2 tank that readily available sir. He’ll find me a classic anything that readily available; I’ll give you a hint- there’s a straight 6 powered Dart, an old F100 that doesn’t run and an old CB350 within close proximity to my house. As far as anything classic currently for sale that’s all she wrote. Those are things worth turning into garage queens.

And you go right ahead and look at a 2020 S1KRR as something worth while to hang on to just to have. In 5 years when it’s worth half of what you paid it will still look good sitting there, I guess. Whereas everything I’ve just mentioned increases in value over time. You just seem to like collecting things that Depreciate in value. I like holding onto things that Appreciate in value. Neither of us is “wrong” we just have different tastes.
