BMW HP4 - Workshop Crash Rebuild

Bit of a re-build diary here - took a little longer as more parts were needed, hence the slightly disconnected video - think of it as a loophole in spacetime. Big thanks to Bahnstormer Alton for letting me film in their workshop (and be generally irritating).

Few repeat questions in the comments so i'll answer them all here: 1) How much did it cost to repair? Subframes from ebay £270 Fairings, clock cover, headlights etc. £1700 retail (i get a nice discount with these guys) Rear set pegs £80 screen was donated stole the seat from the warehouse (shhh) plus 6k for the bike so £8k give or take. 2) What camera is this? Panasonic GH4 shooting 100mbs with the kit lens 3) Am I glad i did this? HELLLLLLL YEEEAAAAHHHH!

Absolutely beautiful bike. I think I am very close to pulling the trigger on an HP4. It was only a dream until recently. I can't imagine what an HP4 feels like coming from a 2003 R1. Thanks for the video, it was nice to see the details up close.

Get a higher windscreen, it makes a lot of difference. I've got the same bike, bought new in 2014 and have 32.000km on it. It is a wonderful bike, almost a pity to ride on track. Had a S1000RR track only and sold it as I hadn't taken enough time for track days. Congrats, I think and know you'll enjoy it!

At least it's slightly scuffed and scratched, so there's no pedanticness that comes with a mint bike.For instance that chap with the minty chrome bike is probably going to be more concerned with preserving the bike than actually racing it.

All those parts were probably the equivalent to a brand new S1000RR lol. OEM BMW parts are very expensive I'll tell you from experience

I think youll find that youll want to replace your carbon heel guards on those Gilles, they flex a ton while riding track, although they are nice and light, tons of people I know go for the aluminum guard as it is pretty close to the same weight but much more sturdy.
