BMW can mass produce these frames! this is amazing news for us normal people - it means that in the not too distant future carbon fibre frames won't just be confined to exotic, limited run bikes. We might one day see these on our run of the mill street bikes. damn I love technology.
@jponz855 жыл бұрын
Carbon fiber will still be expensive as companies know it's much lighter than any other source used. 15yrs ago carbon fiber goods were expensive, today? They're just as expensive

You clearly overestimate horsepower. The RC213 is 188kg fully fueled (and that's with headlights and other road-legal things) and makes the same power (215hp) as the HP4 Race. The chassis and handling of the RC213 will more than make up for the ~17kg weight deficit. But then again, it's also a lot more expensive.

An amazing bike, how they can mass produce that frame I do not know. It's kind of like a Britten V1000 but nearly 30 years later. The Britten was 138 kg wet and 166 Hp. The BMW is 33 kg heavier but has 49 Hp more. Amazing what was achieved in a shed in NZ so long ago. I guess the extra weight of the BMW would easily account for all the electronics it carries nowadays.

You can not find a better overall machine and production material eg build quality than BMW bikes! I owned a 2016 Kawasaki Er6N which when I bought had 2800km, when you looked underneath the bike on the frame etc you could find rust spots and weak leg pads, weak gas pedal etc... then I bought a 2005 BMW K1200R with 29.000km it was a beast with 3 year old spark plugs which ran flawlessly! A beast of a bike! The build quality was speachless!.

@seanstevens-ds5fk7 жыл бұрын
Even WSB bikes don't have colour displays. They're made by 2D and their sole purpose is to display important data. None of that fancy tft stuff needed here! Got to agree wit you about riding it on the road though

So I see people talkin about the audible traction control is that the knocking nose I heard as he went around corners?
@Josh-oe4ex6 жыл бұрын
I swear that traction control is the most beautiful sound i've ever heard on a bike. The undertail shot at around the 9:00 mark sorta sounds like the intro to "hot for teacher" hahaha. It's so unintrusive it seems. It just cuts fuel and spark flawlessly to give the exact amount of power strokes to keep traction steady. I thought my new R1 had trick electronics.............jeez, it has NOTHING on the HP4 Race. Then again, i can drive mine on the street and track and the engine lasts longer than 5,000 KM. Idk if he said that but every 5,000KM the engine must be replaced. Cost? ~$25,000!
