BMW i3 Rear Latch Replacement

This is the process that I used to replace the "Trunk Lid Lock" latch on my 2014 i3.

I just replaced my latch following this video. A few notes: 1. I was able to access the latch without popping the 2 clips that are farthest away off, but you will need to hold the plastic panel down to access the large bolts on the latch. 2. I broke one of the clips off during disassembly. I am ordering new ones but so far I haven't noticed any problems due to the missing clip. 3. The large bolts on the latch are on very tight. I was able to loosen them with just a screwdriver on the Torx bit but some people might need to use a ratchet wrench for more leverage. 4. Entire repair took me about 40 minutes at most. Anyone can do this repair themselves.

Thanks for taking the time to post this, The dealer wanted $900.00 to do the job that with the help of your video I did for just over $100. By the way the reason I had to replace the latch was that it constantly showed as being open with a warning on the dash compete with dong sound and interior lights staying on. Replaced latch and all is well again.
