I am a Tesla M3P and then MY owner and just ordered my wife an i4 M50. She is used to the Tesla charging experience. This video will be very helpful to her to know what to expect with the M50. Thank you.

I also posted my Day 6 road trip video. Since the BMW Navigation is unaware of the Tesla Supercharger. I needed to set my navigation to a near by 350 kW EVGO so I could precondition the battery. BMW will be adding the Tesla Supercharger in the navigation along with the support of a CCS1 to NACS adapter.

I think in fact it will be better than this once she is used to it. There is a bit of a learning curve for the first month or two. After that it is a piece of cake. She will also learn not to get excited our wound up the odd occasion it goes wrong. She will learn what chargers to avoid and which ones to go for. The i4 probably is the best car available now... it just... is.

Seems like you are having issues getting cable to communicate with your car? Why was that?

The connector didn't completely set. The click sound didn't sound soild. The second plugin was much better.

0.45$ KW so, super charge isn't really much cheaper than GAS?
@vauskyvideos8 ай бұрын
95% of my charging is at home on my Level 2, 11kW charger at $.10 per kWh. I only DCFC if I am on a road trip.
@lotusjp8 ай бұрын
In Florida it's 37 cents per kilowatt so they're playing the old the oil company game according to the state instead of electricity being the same price throughout the country they're allowing gouging again from all over the place you call it capitalist system it's called gouging I don't care what you screwing people who are supporting you!

You don't SuperCharge 100% of the time like gas guys have to when they make their weekly trips to the gas station. EV owners charge at home and wake UP to a FULL TANK EVERY MORNING.

sorry if this was explained in the vid and i didnt get it but - do some tesla superchargers have magicdock and some do not? or is magic dock an accessory you can buy to make i4 compatible with tesla chargers?
@techkid975011 ай бұрын
Yes some superchargers have the dock. If a Tesla owner comes to charge they can simply pull out the charger and plug in with the 'Tesla only' connector. but non-Teslas can engage the dock from the app so that it has a different connector.

Thank you for the interesting video. BMW is one of the few hold outs not to agree to the NACS plug, so their customers won’t get access. As an I4 owner, I don’t care. There are zero Version 4 Superchargers in the USA now. There are a few in Europe. The version 2 super chargers will not work, even with an adapter, because they don’t use the CCS protocol. The version 3’s short cables mean that you will have to block two stalls as you did in the video. A Tesla could not use your stall nor the one to your passenger side because their ports are on the rear driver side. It’s no problem at slack times, but at busy times (like holidays or weekends) or busy locations (like Las Vegas) you would be like the guy parking on the white line at EA and blocking two stalls. No thanks. 2024 will be interesting as Tesla owners react to clueless Chevy Bolt and VW ID4 users blocking stalls and charging to 100%.

I agree. I do not like blocking a stall for a Tesla driver. This site in Fort Worth the chargers are available from both sides. If you look over my i4. You can see a red Model 3 charging on the other side.

Update: BMW has finally agreed to adopt Tesla's NACS plug. As an i4 owner, I am happy with this development as it provides us additional charging options in addition to the CCS plugs. For me, it's not a noticeable impact given I rarely have a need to charge outside my home unless for long very drives (a handful of times per year).

Hopefully they will not buying the other but the real electric car

Wow. Elon’s cables aren’t very long at all.
@vauskyvideos Жыл бұрын
When the V4 Supercharger installation will have longer cables. Also, the stall will be centered with the parking space so the cable can reach both sides of the EV.

Because all Teslas have the charging port on the rear left and in the light cluster (except CT).

Do you need an adapter?
@vauskyvideos3 ай бұрын
The MagicDock is a Tesla integrated CC1 adapter with the Supercharger. You need to have a Tesla account and app to activate the CCS1 plug. You can find the supported MagicDock sites with Tesla app and PlugShare.
