I want to thank you for your tip regarding resetting the iDrive 8 on my BMW iX. I encountered the same problem and since the middle of January I had only limited connectivity. I called the BMW emergency line in Holland the told me to make an appointment with the local dealer. I made an appointment but when I arrived there they could not help me. They knew the problem and it had first priority in Munich. I had to be patient…… Yesterday my radio, apple car play and telephone collapsed. Nothing worked. Resetting, removing and re-connecting did not help. Being a former Tesla driver I started searching on line for a complete reset and found you. Now everything is working again. BMW is making perfect cars but that doesn’t mean the make perfect electric cars.

I'm having this exact problem now. IDrive guys on phone told me to delete the app and reinstall. Next appointment with dealer is in a month.

I have a weird problem. The spotify song thumbnail is stuck on one song. So weird... The controls work fine but the progress bar and thumbnail and the details are all stuck on one song. Even when you skip the song from the wheel controls you get the same song details for the next song on the drivers display.
