I had to do this twice on my E38 in about 2 years. No start fault, starter motor wouldn't spin up. when I stripped the old switch down the 2 end pairs of contacts were all burned and black so the current wouldn't flow, the pins always looked off center to me, I was well surprised when I had to replace it again. Car only had 50k on it. Nice video.

Somtimes I get a intermittent no start and if I hold the key it will start after 5 secs or if I switch it instantly on and off it will be fine. Hoping a new one will solve it.

Hello David, That is odd. Usually the ignition switch is the culprit. Not sure if I can help but can you post the last seven digits of the VIN and a detailed description of the problem.
