EWS has been removed and bypassed on this car with a jumper cable.
I created this video only for race cars being driven on private courses and roads.
PURPLE = ACCESSORIES
GREEN = IGNITION
BLUE/BLACK = STARTER
RED/GREEN = 12V Constant
RED/BLUE = 12V Constant

Technically the red blue is for the starter wire power, but since your running only one main switch, if you had ran it to the starter switch your starter switch would be powered all the time which isn’t ideal.

so once you add a start button, how do you get around the steering lock?

This is a track car, rules are that steering lock has to be removed so the entire key switch etc. has been removed.

My wires are the same colors but they do different things as your video suggests might be. 2000 323i. Was wondering the best way to test what wire does what

I'm not clear how you know that your wires do different things but you're not sure what they do?

Yes, that was removed a couple years ago and a jumper cable used in its place to activate the starter motor

I wish I could answer but a friend did it for me. We just created a short jumper cable with connections to transfer the signal from the ignition to the starter without the EWS installed.

I'll add some clarity to my previous response. There is no EWS module and there is no key anymore for this race car. The push button starter simply takes electric current and sends it straight to the starter motor. The antitheft capability has been completely removed from the car.

How do I take the ews out I got a e46
