🪫⚡Sidenote: I wanted to know, how much battery the iX1 loses when parked outside in winter. So I left it outside for three weeks at an average temperature of 1 C° - the batter lost -1% only. ❄🥶

Great video, thank you very much. It would have been cool if you had ridden a downhill section in B mode instead of D. I would have been interested to see whether the car stays on track when braking due to recuperation. Definitely the first real snow video with the IX1 👍👍

Thanks, nice driving. We got our first - heavy wet - snow in Bavaria 2 weeks ago. My BMW iX1 30M had no problems at all ,but not really a good test under proper cold/icy snow conditions. I saw a comment about "B" -One Pedal - Mode selection. I would think that would be worse in downhill traction, but would be great if you could try it out before I wrap my car around a tree!

Its like downshifting in a gas car, the wheels dont lock up. Scary thing about downhill on ice is you either choose stearing or breaking. One pedal gives you an extra choice. I love BMWs and they do amazing in snow, and more people need to buy them here in Alaska and other snowy climates.

Seriously considering an IX1 but with Cross Climate 2 tyres as the winters aren't as harsh here, it tends to be wet snow and ice that are the main problem here, so my big concern would be the effects when regenerative braking kicks in as it can be quite aggressive at times, i can imagine this might be a nightmare when driving on snow and particulary ice! Can this ve disabled when driving in these situations?

Good point! You can change the settings how "strong" the recuperation is supposed to be. Best efficiency at "Auto" but I don't like it personally... I prefer to have it at low. But BMWs driving assistants are clever enough to not block the wheels when recuperating, I never had any issues so far.😇

No, literally just a set of new winter tires. -> Continental WinterContact TS 860 S.

What mode are you driving in in the snow ? I have an iX1 but don’t think I’ve found the right mode yet 🤦‍♀️

in this case, where I was driving for fun, the car was in Sport (with DSC off). If I am commuting, I prefer the system to be on, so I am in Personal Mode :)

Is there a defect that with the automatic gearbox the number of gears in Drive is not displayed?

Good question!⚡🔋 Unlike a combustion engine, an electric motor delivers its power over an extremely wide speed range, which is why the iX1 does not need a gearbox.
