@adpmol No, I mean that noise, when you're pressing that stick forward or pulling it backward. I tested it, but without a car build around it. You know it was during a demonstration when I saw and experienced it the first time. That automatic P position shifting is a nice idea. Is it possible to have the shifter in parking position while nobody is inside. If you need to push you're car, because you don't want to start the engine, or something is broken?

@knopper123 you haven't really experienced one yet I guess. The metal feels real , and probably is real. You can always get that aluminium replaced by a real wood insert for 180$ or 140euro The rear of the shifter is done in Napa leather , and that is not cheap. greetz !

@knopper123 Sure this is possible , you just have to put it in N and it will still roll

@knopper123 oh well , i was demonstrating the thing , so i was handling it kinda rough : thats why its making that noise . this shifter is completely electronic : This has advantages and disadvantages. - : sometimes you dont know whether youre in D or R or N . - : the car goes automaticly into P when you open your door and release your seatbelt . i will demonstrate the "quality and safety " of a 1998 mercedes in a new video !

so how do you go to Neutral from manual or Reverse? It's still a bit strange to me. How do you go into Sport mode?

@adpmol Yes I have. It's not metal just plastic. Could ignore that plastic, but what i cannot ignore is this clicking and clacking noise while shifting manually. When the company introduced the shifter, I asked them why they have replaced the shifter by such a cheap one. Some guy told me it was because less force was needed to operate the shifter. Tsss what a lame excuse. Since BMW is building their cars in cooperation with peugeot the quality has decreased. PS: The old one had more leather

Hey man, I have the same car and as I can see on the shifter there is M/S on the left. S is sport mode right? Or not? I mean can I switch to automatic but sport mode or it can be just a manual transmission?

I want to drive in sport mode so that the revs would be higher but also want it to be automatic :)

Yes S is sport mode!

DrivingObsession if you press left once from D you are in sport automatic so yes.

im not a fan of these electronic shifters. looks silly. but the mercedes e-shift isnt so bad, or isnt that hard to use

what happens if you mistakenly pushes the parking button when you are driving

I tried it , works only when you are below 6-8 km/h or 4-6 mp/h
