This is an easy way to get rid of the ABS warning light from your dash in the event you have disabled the ABS system due to failure or making a track bike. Cleaner finish than electrical tape over the lights.

Best mod ever done to these bikes, bmw need to be ashamed. There was NO fail safe to a creamed abs module, fails without warning and you WILL lose up to 90% braking force….. My k1200s had same issue- removed unit and all abs lines, replaced with braided hoses and blanked led flashing lights, never looked back!

Module failed a while back so removed ABS but had to put tape over the damn light on the dash as it was really distracting at night. Looked terrible. This is a much better fix (as opposed to €2K for a new module). Kudos for posting!

Thought I was going to find a complex solution to clear the errors by earthing pins and following some secret ignition start process. This isn’t what I expected BUT it might just be what I need to do, thanks

hi,,,i did the same months ago...the other 2 LEDs are for warnings....maybe you remember: when fuel is low, should there be the orange LEDs show that? i does not but think it was doing that before removal of the ABS system

I have a question. Has anyone tried to "trick" the electronics into "thinking" the entire ABS module is still present? In that case, probably the ABS warning light and the general warning light would stop "warning" that the ABS module is missing. Perhaps someone who knows electronics much better can consider the option of placing a resistor, or something, that would simulate the load reported by the correct ABS module in the CANbus system. It might be a good idea. :)

Marker pen fails after a while. I used two squares of black high density foam to blank off the l.e.ds. No leak through.

perhaps black silicone can help?

Nice job...thanks... Easy ...without the ABS module the motorcycle works normally??? I believe this solves the problem with these modules, it's an excellent motorcycle...

Gonna swap out the bits of electrical tape for this fis. Hopefully will pass the government inspection.

Yep. I’ve got that problem. Think I’ve no choice but to remove the module as you have. What about the annual WOF test though. Do they know the bike came with abs originally? If so they’ll fail it won’t they ?

Damn you can get the abs module rebuilt in the US for like $250. I don’t know what the conversion from your currency (AUS $??) to ours is but I’m pretty sure it’s not that different! If you buy one new they are ridiculous.
