Als unglaublich zufriedener M4 Fahrer und Verbrennungsmotorfanatiker, muss ich wirklich sagen, ich bin sehr gespannt was BMW da zaubern wird. Auch wenn Elektro für mich niemals in Frage kommen würde, bin ich mir sicher, dass BMW neue Maßstäbe setzen kann und auch wird!

Ich bin überzeugter Verbrennerfahrer, aber die Testfahrer/Ingenieure in dem Video mit den zugehörigen agilen Bildern des Fahrzeugs machen mich doch sehr neugierig was hier geschaffen wird. Könnte tatsächlich ein sehr interessantes E-Fahrzeug werden.

I agree. This car will put every other electric car to shame and will likely set the benchmark and future direction for all sports cars. The single central computer for all driving functions will be revolutionary. Pair that with 4 motors, and likely a groundbreaking adaptive suspension to go along with it. I won't be able to afford it, but I will definitely be drooling over it.

The abilities of EVs in regards to traction in less-than-ideal situations is something I've experienced firsthand. My first EV was an i-MiEV. (Don't laugh -- I got it on a lease for $0 down and $69 a month!) The car was perfectly driveable in the snow until you turned off traction control. Then its short wheelbase, rear wheel drive, rear motor, and skinny tires worked against it. The car was completely undriveable without the traction control. That was with a single motor. This BMW M will have multiple motors (2? 4?). This is where technology -- if done properly -- will shine. EVs can be fun to drive!

Instead of relying on off-the-shelf parts, BMW should build their own in-house software and hardware. This gives you real control over key components like motors and batteries. Look at Tesla-they show that smart, custom software can boost efficiency even with batteries with lower energy level and thus also reduce the weight. EVs should be software-centric, not just a mishmash of third-party components. Skipping platforms like AUTOSAR and Vector can simplify the design and let engineers tailor everything exactly to their needs.

Your average bread and butter EVs may not have top end power, doesn't mean it's a fact. Let's just mention Model S Plaid. It has crazy top end and will almost destroy any super car or hyper car above 200kph..

The only incentive for an EV is no co2 emission car tax. In some countries like Finland the tax super painful. For example a Bmw M3 has 54000 euros of tax in the price.

BMW you are falling into the path of the Mercedes C63 2.0 4 cylinder. I would like to remind you that sales of that car were unbelievably low which is why Mercedes have awoken to their senses and will scrap the 2.0 4 cylinder hybrid and bring back the V8. Sooner or later when u see that the sales of your "M EVs" will be so low you will have no choice but to do the same. Really disappointed with my favourite car brand.

Respectfully disagree, EV tech overall is advancing rapidly and there is such potential waiting to be developed. Compared to the C63 going from V8 to a hybrid system, this instead is a revolution instead of an evolution. If they were not involved in R&D into performance EVs, BMW would run the risk of falling behind other brands who are also pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with the technology.
