BMW M roadster 2000 power soft top doesn't work, brake lights don't work

BMB Power soft top doesn't work, BMW brake lights don't work, convertible top won't go up or down, manually raise and lower, soft top don't work, BMW brake lights not working

Thank you thank you for this video! I initially viewed this to help me with the no brake light problem, but it also help me to FINALLY get to use my power convertible function of the soft top. Most or in my case all the KZbin videos I’ve seen acknowledge that the brake light switch is connected to the power top but only your video pointed out the T-handle to release the hydraulic function. Apparently the T-handle was turned counterclockwise and my power top never ever functioned for me. When I turned the T-handle clockwise my top FINALLY opened with the convertible switch!!! No other video, fellow bimmer friend or mechanic could figure that out. Thanks so much for this video!😎🤙🏽🤙🏽

Convertible top quit working in 2019 and had repair shop troubleshoot, they ended up replacing the brake lite switch for a total cost of $211 with troubleshooting. Top quit working today and watched your video, sure enough, the brake lights are not working. Ordered the part off of Amazon for $13.20 and plan to replace as soon as it arrives. Wish me luck!

Thanks for this video. My convertible top motor quit working and I assumed that was it. Watched your video then checked my brake lights and they didn’t work either. You saved me a bunch off$! Thanks!

Awesome instructions. I have the same symptoms! Checked fuse 46 and ok. No brake lights at all! Time to order the switch...thank you!

This helps a lot , my brake light turn on sometimes though and then the top works so is it still the switch or no?

Same. But my issue wasn't the switch. The hydrolic motor for the top was seized, causing me to blow fuses. I unplugged th harness from it and bam, had my brake lights back

That switch will also set automatic transmission malfunction light. My switch was intermittent.
