BMW M2: Car Got Broken Into; Interior STRIPPED

Unfortunately, the M2 got broken into and a lot of expensive parts got stolen.
It will take some time (as I wasn’t insured for theft-related damages), but we’re of course going to rebuild the car. I am very sorry, seeing such a beautiful car reduced to this state makes me unhappy. It happened to me too, they broke the rear glass and despite a thorough cleaning some glass fragments always remain. But you're good, you'll be able to put it back as it was before.

Man, this sucks! Totally forgot this was a thing, breaking in and stealing parts like screens, modules, airbags, etc…i’ll be not parking outside overnight. Thanks for the reminder. In to my fifth year ownership here, only 50K. Kilometers so far. Plan to sell in october this year. Great fun car!

@@TheHunterHofman moving on, i had an M235i prior to the M2. So it’s been 2 series for nearly a decade… was planning to buy the new M2, but not in love with the design. I’m sure it’ll drive great tho. Been lurking at 911 all my life. Maybe it’s time to switch it up. Carrera, S or T. All the same engine now. Unfortunally the Gt3, my favorite, is out of my reach. To expensive. Maybe a return to an E46 M3. But most of those require a lot of investment and attention to get them in a decsent state. Manual off course. 😉 But not in a hurry. I feel, a compact BMW M car is like a hooligan, while a 911 is more of a gentleman’s car. Will see.

@@Jb001jb 911 of today is humongous. Try GTS 4.0 Cayman or Lotus Emira, still sane proportions, still sane weight, still sane steering feel - everything BMW of today is not.

Happened to my M2 last year in Sweden. Unfortunatley it made me sell it due to I didnt find any garage spots close to my home. Hope you resolve all issues. Took me 4 months to get it fixed at BMW…

After smashing the window, they instantly put a device in my OBD2 port which disables the alarm. Not sure exactly how it works, but that’s how they do it.

@@TheHunterHofman oh I was not aware you could disable the alarm like that... Glad I have a Data Display that blocks the OBD port by default. I need to enter a pin in the Display to unlock the OBD port. I didn't really understand why they did all this but I guess it makes a lot of sense now. Hopefully you can get your car up and running as fast as possible bro

Shame about the insurance, must have double broke your heart to first have it being broke into and then being denied any kind of help from the insurance company.
