Just ordered the m performance brake kit (orange set) and this would be a good thing to grab right out of the gate. I do plan on doing some semi basic towing with my 328d wagon so having the extra heat control will be good for going down mountains

@@TheHunterHofman yes picked it up today I have done 400 miles in it, I miss the sound of the n55 and the more “alive” harsher ride, I genuinely feel so sad I miss my old car, it feels like being dumped by someone you were in love with, I’m gutted 😭 I think I’m honestly going to sell up and buy an OG back .

If your thinking of going S55 please take lots of test drives first I genuinely have an M2 comp on my driveway now and wish I could turn back time have my OG back. The difference in sound and how the N55 made me feel is like the difference between a V12 engine and a 4 cylinder fiesta engine. I think I’m going to have to cut my losses and try and get an OG M2 back.

Something tells me that having hot pads are as bad as having hot rotors. Very questionable upgrade

You insulate the heat to the pads themselves instead of allowing it to go to the more vulnerable seals and fluid. Imo I think that's fine, because you can get really really high temp rated pads like the Ferrodo DS3.12 which is rated for insanely high temps and still retains it's coefficient of friction. The same goes to Carbotech's XP12. So imo I'd rather leave the heat in the pads because you can get pad compounds that can tolerate it. Whereas with brake fluids you don't have much flexibility, after Castrol SRF there's nothing left. Same with the seals.

@TheHunterHofman the problem with this that these pads are sport/track use and work the best at high temps. I've used these and they absolutely terrible for city/short driving because they do not provide stopping power before they get to certain temperature
