BMW M2 (G87) | BEST RWD performance car for the money?

The 2023 BMW M2 sport coupe is a complete monster out on the canyon roads! Awesome performance, features and yes… even a good design! This is our first BMW here on Drive Culture and it did NOT disappoint!
Are you guys fans of this second gen M2 or do you like the first gen M2 better? Also, if you were to buy this new M2 would you opt for the amazing Carbon Package?

100% best performance car for the money. If you want a well rounded vehicle with high performance, BMW is really leading in the dept. The S58 is the new 2JZ.

@@Rabbit.Hole.Racing. well when the g80 m3 competition x drive can turn awd off and beat the ZL1 in a drag race when it not only has four doors and can seat a family of four comfortably, its the superior vehicle because it can do it all. Comparing it to predominantly 2 seaters or the camaro which doesnt have much room back there, it not only beats it there but also is much safer in all weather conditions. So there is your answer. M3 g80 beats every car in it’s class.

Finally BMW review!! Lol love the M2 but I wont let go of my M235i. The car is just too perfect for daily commute + fun. Not great on MPG but smiles per gallon is off the charts!

Totally agree with your comparison of the front/rear design strengths/weaknesses between the F87 and G87. I don’t think I’ve heard anyone else make that point. I thought I was the only one.

I really like G87 especially in Toronto Red. Side profile is amazing, rear is nice ,front is ok. But in general its a great value and fantastic driving machine.

I ordered the M2 (Brooklyn grey cuz I love those extreme exterior lines) with Driver package to higher to max speed. Reason? It’s a damn sports car - even on German autobahn I won’t drive 177mph often, but it’s important to know that I would be able to 😅

Thanks for the comment! I actually haven’t driven the new Mustang yet… I really do like the way the Dark Horse looks though! I feel like they’d be very different cars though. Guess it depends on what you want, but I think the BMW is going to be way more refined and feel smaller (in a good way)! I’m sure the sound and fun to be had in the Dark Horse, might be unmatched though!

What would you say in comparing this to the Supra MK5? I’m not looking for it to be a practical car but I do plan to drive it on a daily, 2 miles a day around. Also is that how it looks stock? I don’t see what people are complaining about. But yeah definitely can’t decide between this and the Supra, maybe you could help?

Thanks for the comment! The M2 is definitely going to be more expensive than the Supra, but if you can afford it, that might be the better choice! I think speed wise, they’re about the same, or the M2 is maybe a hair faster. It also has a way nicer interior and better infotainment and features. Yes, outside of the lower suspension, that’s how it looks. Let us know which one you decide to pick up!

Bhrahh. Have you checked the Integra Type S pricing for the vehicle and accessories 😮 … this is a steal man for all you get comparatively speaking IMHO

Thanks for the comment & feedback! Yes, I own an ITS with the accessories, but against this car it’s still more than $15k cheaper. That said, I think for the performance you get here, the M2 is a bargain against something like a loaded up Cayman!

I hear you but to make my point again you get so much more for that 15K. V6 with a lot more power, Leather, 2 power carbon seats, larger powerful brakes, carbon roof (Acura wants 2k just for a deck spoiler), MT, premium interior with huge screen ..need a magnifying glass to see the Integras …very basic in comparison. Brother I can go on and on. Very ambitious pricing structure for the Type S by Acura …trying to milk on Type S cache …well the M2 aint half bad in that regard either. Don’t get me wrong the Type S is a phenomenal drivers car ..but pricing and amenities for it are a bit far fetched and dare say greedy 😮. No disrespect intended just how I feel. Was on the list for one and have an FK8 (you probably recognize my comments by now!!) God Bless

Thanks for the comment! The owner added the suspension after buying the car and it is completely adjustable. It rode really well despite being pretty low.

I’m on several actual CTR owner’s forums and it seems that if there’s a markup at all, most people paid $5-10k over, so low $50ks which is still a lot less than the M2.

@@Drive_Culture Hey, it is Sapphire Black. I had the G87 on order to replace my current M2. The moment I saw the leaked images, I canceled as the new design is basically a joke.
