They’re literally just mad that they don’t have the new one and that theirs is more dated especially with all the new features and the newer power plant. BMW owners always hate the new gen until they can get it, then they love it. It’s clock work lol. I have a new M2 on the way, used to have an E92 and it was the same thing when the E92 came out, then when the F80s came out. Now everyone loves them.

Only the side profile is attractive. Front isn’t - looks like it is missing the bottom front body colour trim…no protection from stone chips for the radiator. Lights at the back - Sloth from Ice age. An M car should be WOW and lust after one. The M4 until 2020 - a real stunner - head turner IMO. Beaver tooth front grill on M3 and more so on M4 IMO looks pretty awful. Only if the colour is a dark colour ideally black will it blend ‘relatively’ fine.

My question; no reviewer will answer but you are probably best equipped to is… The Original m2 costs around £30k, is this £35k more car? Equally the same for the comps at around £40k is it £25k more car? Is it worth the money? I don’t doubt that’s it’s a great car, but cars like these are getting far too expensive!!!

I had the original M2 and purchased it in April 2016 when it was launched, it was £51 with the DCT box and didn't come with many standard options, no carbon roof, no HUD, no HK sound, normal sports seats, non M engine.... That's a fact.

You are a very talented reviewer. Straight forward. You hit the high notes. No BS. Agree its a great car. A couple of other points. As an old school BMW owner of years past, I stuggle accepting the wide screen display. I believe the industry is moving this direction but also consider out of the warranty what replacement cost would be over and above the aesthetic. I prefer gauges. I would only get the 6 speed manual and I am not young. I know its not as fast. I like to be an active and not passive driver. I would get it without the carbon seats or the carbon roof in America if possible. Not in love with the styling. Believe the M3 and M4 look better. I pine for a stripper M2 with old school gauges. An E46 like M3 but with this modern driveline which is ridiculously good. Problem with BMW's is long term cost of ownership tends to be high. These cars with 100 computers will be next level reliability cost. Remember guys...automotive engineer here....the more complicated the widget, the higher the probability it will fail over time. Statistics 101. One would have to want a modern BMW real bad to pay for it with all of its complexity. Some believe owning modern high end cars...I never lease... but some believe only option is 'rent' the car under warranty. Too big of a gamble to own a BMW or Jag or Maserati etc without the safety net of a warranty.

@362chop made in Mexico has a bad rap, but just like made in Korea or China it doesn't mean they can't improve. Labor is just cheaper and allows them to sell a car very similar to an M4 for $20k less. So far I haven't heard too many complaints. I put a small deposit on a 2025

I can imagine the interior with the carbon buckets would be a lovely place to sit.. and it still has that glorious straight six which is something special in this day and age. However, the exterior is just so jarring. I just don't understand what BMW are doing. You shouldn't need an adjustment period - the car should be stunning , period. I remember seeing the F87 M2 and instantly wanting one. Sad really, but I am sure there's plenty of people who will still buy it.
