Did you find out how the steering wheel bolt would help to prevent the steering wheel being stolen? And do you know the torque spec for this steering wheel bolt?

Yeah, as I thought, it’s the green stuff that makes it way harder to loosen. What I heard, however, is that it would be wiser to screw in a bolt with an E-torx head (as thieves usually don’t cary those tools around, and simply expect a 16mm bolt (like the one in the video)). The torque spec for the steering wheel bolt is 62 Nm. Hope that helps

M2 with N55 is the best. Still hurts what happen to it but nice to see you hanging on to it. I used to have a Waylen 360 camera with LTE so I can monitor my M2 in real time.

Very cool video, keep it up 💪🏼. Does anyone know if the OBD connector draws power if left plugged in with the ignition off? I always pull the plug at the end because I thought it would continue to draw current.

Thanks mate, will do. Yes, it does. The port is alway live. A bluetooth adapter draws so little current that it doesn’t affect your battery (I can tell from experience). Hope that helps

By the way; I don’t think it makes sense to secure/fix the I drive controller. It wil only be fixed to the piece of carbon trim that thieves take out anyway (with iDrive conteoller attached to it). Even with normal bolts they will not unscrew the iDrive controller and they take the whole trim. The iDrive controller is not screwed to the car, but to the small piece of trim (on my Pré LCI M2).

Come to think of it, you’re right. It happened to me like that as well. It’s interesting that the instructions of the security kit don’t even mention the gauge cluster. I’m definitely going to use them there too.

@@TheHunterHofman I did the gauge cluster also...there are security bolts enough in the kit (it's for different BMW models) and the big ones are not used on the F87 M2. Small tip; before fitting the security bolts/inserts, makes sure the original screws are thight enough.

Great informative video; I will fit both devices/kits. Just wondering; how does the bluetooth device on the original and then hidden ODB port works exactly (and where did you get it)? Can BMW dealers just connect to this bluetooth ODB alternative?

Good to hear, thank you. Check the end of the video and the description to see where I got it! The real live port works exactly like the original port, so yes dealerships can simply connect to the real one. The dummy port doesn’t transfer information.

@@TheHunterHofman I fully understand the cable, the function and the link to order it. I mean the Bluetooth device you plugged into the now hidden and unaccessible ODB port…is it not a Bluetooth device you plugged in and kept in the hidden ODB port all the time (or was it delivered with the cable). How else can a BMW dealer acces the ODB port if it is hidden fully under the dash as in your installation? Or did I miss something 😊

@@Franzino haha sorry, completely misread your initial comment, I feel like an idiot now😂 so in my BimmerCode video I have a link to the adapter in the description and it allows you to use BimmerCode, BimmerLink and code several things to your car. Dealers only use cables, so yes, they would need to remove the adapter first (should take them no more than 5 minutes). Hope that helps mate

It will drain battery if running I.E 24 hours. At least my blackvue will.

@@eviltriangle thanks mate. BMW have fixed this now with the G-series, the alarm will keep going if they try to disable it via the OBD2 port.
