It was because it was tuned. That's why it has 505hp and v10 engine and not manual but a dual clutch 7 speed gearbox. You can't just expect a bmw to have a v10 or 505hp in 2003.

I have a bit of things to say: 0:17 E30 had 203 HP, 1:04 M3 E36 had 3.2 I6 with 321 HP (not 316), 1:33 M3 E46 had 3.2 I6 (not 3.0) and 343 HP, CSL had 360 HP (same as CS, but CS has been produced in 1200 units and CSL in 360), 3:13 E92 had 420 HP (not 414) pushed from 4.0 V8 S65B40 compressor engine- GTS have 4.0s too, 6:29 G80 has 480 HP (Competition has 510 and now there are only Competitions produced as a normal versions)(and their max is 280(305 with M driver package)). If something's wrong tell me (everything is from my own knowledge).

Touring models (except G81) was not included by: - E46 M3 Touring was only one unit were made at M GmbH inhouse and they wouldn't test a performance while its same underneath as normal M3. - E91 M3 Touring was never been made from factory (except a custom made retrofits) - F81 M3 Touring, same as E91 was a custom made with F31 Touring body but its only single-digit units were made as it was different by only c pillars but still same engine and gearbox as normal M3s which is no need to do a separate one with different model along with its F80 sedan.

F82 (M DCT) with stage 1 tune can do 3.7 seconds and 100-200 in 7.4 seconds.

And my ninja h2 sx with a performance air filter and titanium exhaust does 100-200km/hr in 3.6 seconds and I can go on long distances with it, panniers to carry luggage. My advice is get a good basic M3 and enjoy the M car experience but trying to remap it for the sake of outright performance alone you may aswell get a motorbike
