From my understanding the latest iStep updates to the F8x platform do sort out the mapping, it is worth getting all the modules changed. There is a huge discussion on it on bimmerpost and people have reported great results. It does exactly as you said, moves the torque curve up and makes it more linear (almost makes the car feel NA like in power delivery). It has improvements on Diff and Gearbox behaviour too. My F82 CP is going in for this soon.

15:35 it's true, just like black can absorb light (heat) it also means it can radiate heat the same way. The reason why some space parts are black is to radiate heat better. White can reflect alot but when hot it takes more time to lose it's heat. Not sure how much it will help. Can be as little as a few degrees but when pushing 300/400 degrees it might be a way to keep the brakes cooler ;)

Pretty surprised that you aren’t running something like the Turner oil cooler skid plate that’s metal instead of the factory plastic. Glad to see the stock plate has survived the beating. Just curious, do you only run the crank bolt capture or have you installed an aftermarket crankhub ? My apologies if I’m beating a dead horse on that question
@mgcharoudin2 жыл бұрын
It is indeed a dead horse. It's a typical US thing for people who run ridiculous power and do street drag pulls. Then it may be necessary. In our case no problem
@omarg60222 жыл бұрын
The black calipers/black painted anything isn't true. Engineering explained did a video on it too if you don't believe me but basically black seems to dissipate heat because it absorbs light which then turns into heat but black does not absorb heat. Adding any color layer of paint is paint and it actually makes it harder for the item to dissipate heat because it acts as a layer of insulation. The logic came from how black surfaces get hotter than a white surfaces so it can cool more heat but it does not help with heat dissipation. Just anodize you calipers if there aluminum.

The new videography is appreciated but you'll need better lighting. I'd suggest laying a few LED shop lights on the floor temporarily while you film the undersides of cars on the lift. Your camera needs a flood light and George needs a spot flashlight/torch and a green laser pointer. We also need at least one close shot of Pancake looking into the camera in each video. Put a piece of chicken on top of the camera/phone and when she see's it, drop it on the floor for her to eat. Do this enough times so she becomes used to checking the camera for random treats. Sorry Misha, Pancake is "easier on the eyes" than you.

@@vollcare4076 when it comes to the nordschleife you dont want your suspension to be very stiff like on gp tracks, tho im not no expert so just use whatever u feel fits your car the best

@@David-uq4ns In general you are right: you do not need that stiff suspension on NOS as if you would drive on a GPT track. but even this club sport V3 will be too soft for a car that will be used not as a daily anymore and only for track use. V3 Clubsport is a good suspension if you use your car as a compromise daily & track. But this has pretty soft spring rates: E.g. Only 70N/mm one front spring where the JRZ suspension has 140N/mm as i can see. So in case you’ll really install the V3 Clubsport I expect that you’d like to change the spring rate at least to sth about 100 or 120 on front
