I looked at f82's m4 comps, ended up getting a 2 year old GR Supra with only 860 miles from new with ceramic coating for 43.5k from a toyota dealer. Choose the supra as I didn't need so much practicality and it looks a much better than an m4 comp imo. Plus it's cheaper to run and has the b58 engine. It's also a lot more rarer of a car.

Love the Channel John. Just over a year ownership with my M4 comp and still in love. Hard to see what the progression is from this car, especially for the money. May see you out on a track in the future. 👍🏻

When you change the tires it would be a nice idea to align the center caps with the ///M logo and the valve

Loving my CS after nearly three months, but yes there are issues. Use your M1 and M2 steering wheel buttons to set two sets of options on the engine, suspension and steering, one for around the doors, and one for let's go mental at the touch of a button. The DCT is very lumpy around town in slow moving traffic, but it's fabulous when you're on the open road. Cold start is offensively loud, and seems to go on for way too long.

Not in this class of motor but having owned three cars simultaneously for two years becomes a musical chairs headache for which one you want to use that day (or the job you are driving out for), there's always an MOT or Tax just round the corner and in my case two were high, one was ok but still went up ewvery year. Im now back to two which realisticaly is already one to many for the miles I do (Had 2 at the beginning of covid then I found an EP3 I've always wanted so bought that as well - WFH now so had three during the cross over period, binning my diesel commuter a couple of months ago to keep the two I want). Also allowed me more detailing experience before selling it so having three was great for that. Even maintenance washes will take up most of your Saturday and I can't just do two and have one looking crap (saves on a gym membership though!). Just how I am, but I guess that's why I love this channel. Nice one, Jon a nice overview, I know nothing about these at all.

As someone else has written John, use the M1 and M2 buttons to reset the default settings the car fires up with. Bit odd to have sport suspension set up as default but then again, this isn't a daily car by any means. In fact I can't imagine this car is great to use for errands etc but it was never meant to be the ultimate all rounder like a Golf R or CTR. It's a bit sad with cars like this because they have a lot of power but also a lot of weight so the driving dynamics do suffer through the bends. Sometimes less is more in a lighter car with less power though that does appear to an old school of thought.
@ForensicDetailing2 жыл бұрын
Means you have to select a setting rather than being able to select the default that suits you. Seems bad design that.
@kwl1892 жыл бұрын
@@ForensicDetailing Agreed John. Seems counter intuitive that given the cost of the car and class it's in. Why make it so clumsy and difficult as much as inconvenient for the owner to set the car up how they want it? Totally contradictory to the market the car is geared towards. The CTR also had this problem until the new generation came out. Honda learnt from that mistake. I think VW and Merc do the same as BMW here. Bewildering choice of design imo.

Hi John! Nice car that is. I was wondering if you could help me with a question. I have this argument with a friend of mine if it helps to mix different consentrations of soaps/apc/interior-cleaners with eachother. What is your opinion of this? An exsample could be mixing surfex hd and another soap (lets say megs apc) and this will make the finished mixs stronger. I say this is false, but my friend says it will do the trick. What do you think about this?
@ForensicDetailing2 жыл бұрын
It's not a good idea to mix detergent blends. Generally speaking not much will happen and it will be fine. But some blends have small amounts of solvent to keep them homogenous and other surfactants might not mix with this solvent for example. I don't see why you would want to mix different APC togther personally

What are you calling minimal price difference 15k ? Would you still buy a CS if you had no intention of doing track days or would you buy a comp for road use every day car only. Cheers
@ForensicDetailing2 жыл бұрын
Really for hardcore track days a normal M4 pre comp for like 25k makes a lot more sense. Only buy a cs if you sort of fall in love with the idea of having one.

Hey long time watcher first time commenter, great review & love the car. Couple of comments You can’t change the default settings 🙁 best idea is to set you preference for road to the M1 button & track to M2 Also if/when you fit cup2’s they are really bad for picking up stones & peppering the rear arches, if you don’t have full ppf then you can buy extended rear arch ppf plus carbon arch guards help to stop it plus they look cool af 👍🏻

We are going to fit a strap on the door instead of a handle. Why? Because we can. Terrible idea IMHO
