This toralin anticarbon have made a big improvement to my engine, but mine was very very dirty. I have already used 2 spray cans and still notice improvements every time i use this. As a test i did extra cleaning on cylinders 1,2,3 because they have their own exhaust pipe. After few weeks i noticed i pipe almost clean inside other one blackish. So i now will intensify the cleaning of cyl 4,5,6 and see.....

Very good video, well made and informative. As the owner of a M54B30 engined BMW that drinks oil at a alarming rate, I'm very interested in knowing if the use of Toralin to clean oil piston rings has helped to reduce the oil consumption.

Have you tried it?

@@liampritchard2853 I have used it. And it seems it has done some effect, but until now I have driven my car only 450 km since I used Toralin. Before that, my car needed a litre of 5w40 after only 350-400 km. Now, after 450 km, the level in the oil dipstick is a bit over the middle.

@@alfacorse very nice, I have an m54b25 with 212k on her and she doesn’t leak or burn a drop of oil, thinking about still doing the service during my next spark plug change which I still have awhile to go since I just changed the plugs, appreciate your response

@@liampritchard2853 I wish my 530i didn't burn oil, if so I didn't use Toralin if it's not necessary, I suppose chemicals must be pretty strong. I changed the oil 50 km after using Toralin.

I have the chemical composition of GM Top Engine Cleaner. What is the composition of this product? Many of these products contain significant amounts of carrier oil. That oil likely increased the sealing ability of the compression rings, thus the increase of compression to 150+ psi.

Thanks! I've already sorted CCV on this car, unfortunatelly off-camera. But if a friend of a cousin's former roomate comes with this issue and asks me to fix it, I will film it.

Did you perform the (before)compression test with cold engine?
@ProperRepair2 жыл бұрын
I am not sure anymore, but it is possible. Obviously, an accurate measurement should be on a warmed up engine, but this was more of testing the products anyway.

A what about an oil consumption after that?
@ProperRepair3 жыл бұрын
Good question, that I cannot accurately answer, since I have (what a surprise) a bit of an oil leak. I am suspecting rear main seal, so I am focusing on some other work now. Still I would say that the oil consumption has dropped, at least I need to top it less often.

Wrong Oli Mr. :) It has to be LL01, LL04 better for Diesel Models or Direct Injection.
@ProperRepair3 жыл бұрын
Partially true, LL-01 should be used outside EEA (different fuel standards). I forgot about that since I live in Germany where both (LL-01 and LL-04) can be used, thanks for mentioning!
