Hello, this does not work in Win11. I am able to install the drivers in device manager as you show with the file you link to. However, when I open the app I still get the message, Device drivers are not installed. Please help.

Would the amplifier cause the key fob to not work as well as when you put the key in the door the locks do not work, nor does the center lock button? I have replaced my key fob when i lost it from the dealership not even a year ago so i don't think my fob is bad

Just did the replacement. The key with the battery swap lock button doesn’t work anymore. Can unlock and open trunk but can’t lock the car.

Mine does It also in release and acceleration at low rpm. I am currently using 10W40, i checked timing because i Wasn't sure what problem was, and the car currently has 27° of timing instead of 20°, but the noise the car makes Is exactly what yours Is doing.

Any chance you've done it on an E46 or E65? Are they identical? On more recent BMWs, you need to disassemble the mirror from its base which seems tricky with the huge spring

I have the chemical composition of GM Top Engine Cleaner. What is the composition of this product? Many of these products contain significant amounts of carrier oil. That oil likely increased the sealing ability of the compression rings, thus the increase of compression to 150+ psi.

Two tips: If you have trouble inserting the bolt that holds the tie rod, use your 10MM hex key to spin it until the notch lines up with the bolt hole. and it's VERY important to support your 17mm hex key when you're adding the 180* turn to stretch the axle bolt. I put a jack (or jack stand) right under the extension so that all your force is applied to turning, and not putting an angular force into your breaker bar, hex key or socket extension. It's pretty easy to break these with those kinds of forces. (see 5:58).

On some cars, the removed bolt is not long enough to reach the end of the stub axle, and so will not push the cv joint off. If this happens, you can insert a 4" long, 1/2" diameter steel rod into the cv joint. It will embed itself into the stub axle about 2", leaving the same amount protruding into the cv joint. This will give you the reach to seat the bolt against, making it easy to remove the cv. If your wheel bolt screws all the way into the cv joint, and the shoulder of the bolt is seated against the cv, and the cv does not release, this technique will work for you.

One important piece of information you left out is that the rubber and the plastic bump stop tabs on the articulating arms have to be removed so that the boot can open an extra cm or two. If this is not done, the old struts are difficult to get out and the new ones almost impossible to get in.

I was going to attempt a repair today until I tried buying the FOB battery. Nobody carries them. You have to buy them online. ie Ebay, Amazon, etc. I am on hold while I wait. My current FOB that just went dead is an '02 e39 540i Touring. My FOB did not respond to the re-pairing(?), the central lock in the center console does lock/un-lock everything correctly, but I have lost the ability to open the rear glass or rear hatch manually. Are there different fuses or modules to check in a Touring? Is this normal to lose functionality on the liftgate when the FOB goes dead? I have to crawl through the car to get to the emergency mechanical liftgate release to open the back, not fun.

Wow, thank you for the informative video! I learned a lot! Unfortunately, i just bought a 2000 528i whose previous owner said the remote didn't work; however, it does start and lock/arm the alarm with the hidden key, so i'm just using that.

The "glue" for door's foam is not a silicone but butyl. Very usefull when you want to reinstall it, you just need to warm it up :)
