BMW M6, Hertz Mille and Audison Voce, Full HD Audio Upgrade.

In this M6 we actually fabricated door builds to enable the fitment of Hertz Mille Legend front 3 way components, We then used Audison under seat woofers for sub bass. We used full optical integration to link the factory infotainment to the new Audison BIT One HD DSP and then digitally linked this to the Audison 5.1K HD Amplifier.
This was an unbelievable sounding system.

How have you set the time alignment if you used the crossovers because all the speakers would be a different distances from the driver position wouldn't it?

Just out of curiosity - since this looks like a 'money is almost no object' install, why did you not add a 2 channel amp to drive the 3 inch and tweeters separately rather than using a passive crossover. Would you have not gained greater clarity by removing the passive xover from the chain?

I reckon those passive crossovers are probably superb, real high end, plus I’m guessing the fact the mid and tweeter are quite close together distance wise then there’s not a lot of point running them active as time alignment is not such an issue, If the mid was in the bottom of the door and tweeter up high then I think it’d have to be ran active to compensate the distances between drivers. I could be wrong though. It’s just my thought

Hi what LPF did you set to the 6.5 ? im looking at doing a similar set up, i seen hetz say cross the mid-tweet of at 250 up so was think 250 to 300 down for the 6.5

I had recently added a bit dmi in my f30 audio setup and found out that some other companies that build most-toslink converters specify 24/96k in the manual. Just wondering why the bit dmi has only 16 bit resolution

It's quite an old bit of kit now, we use alternative products now which are 24bit.

The class A section ran the Mille mid and tweeter via the Mille passive crossover.

Trying to fit a bit dmi to my e91. Cannot for the life of my to be recognised on the laptop. Any ideas ?

I can only sugest re loading the software for the DMI onto your PC, reset the PC etc, we have not had a problem in the past with a DMI, I assume it is working? Is it new or used? If its new your dealer should help you with tech support.

Well I’ve watched plenty of audiofile vids. Can’t get my head around just how many know-all nerds there are just gagging to bang on about something u did or didn’t do. I’m no expert but I’m pretty damn sure that unless your using a machine of sorts to decipher sound quality, then for most of us mere mortals, the seemingly insignificant details these people are whining about r simply that.
