Hey bro. How do you accurately set the camshafts at tdc without the tc on? Do you just rotate the camshafts separately until cylinder 1 is at top most then lock with the tool.

Hey man, any recent progress, is the car back on the road?? Would love to see a video of the car put together with a summary review of your project. thanks
@GeoDayrit1 Жыл бұрын
Hey! There has been a bit of progress and the car is back on the road, was forced to get a lot done off camera so I could get back to driving the car since I was borrowing a car at the time of making this series. I will be doing an update/up to speed video for the car hopefully this month assuming my schedule lines up to give me the time to do so

When you install the camshaft the barcode has to be on top?
@GeoDayrit1 Жыл бұрын
When setting timing yes, when assembling not quite as critical but would save some hassle by having them already in the right position for locking them in place with the timing tool

Did you replace the valve guides? Which ones did you get, if so?
@GeoDayrit12 жыл бұрын
Yes I did replace them, I called up a place called SI Valves and they happened to have some that were very close to the original guides dimensions and I had those sent to me. They are the same material as the original guides and were put into my cylinder head without issue

@@GeoDayrit1 Respectable numbers. When I got started I couldn’t stop. Originally my goal was 600. I think I will crack into the 800’s. I hoping to be the first in the 10’s and 9’s.

@@nilaht9 that’d be sick to get into the 10s or 9s, excited to see your build come together, trying to keep it pretty streetable/stock enough because of emissions, but also strong enough to take track days and auto cross

Any video with the block assembly?
@GeoDayrit12 жыл бұрын
I’m working on the next video still going over the more niche stuff with the block like clearancing for the rods and the process for me timeserting the deck of the block for the studs. It’s going to be a more picture commentary style because of how the last half of assembling and then reassembling the top end of the engine again because of the original threads in the block. Been a little bit of a struggle but it is coming feel free to ask me questions here or on Instagram and I can get some photos over to you and help out if needed!

I purchased mine on amazon it was marked as a N20 Valve Spring compressor for the intermediate rocker arm springs, the other compressor tool I used is a normal c-clamp style valve spring compressor
