Installed my kit today, was a fairly straight forward install except take very good care taking off the ccv fittings off the hoses. One of my clips cracked which means I need to get a replacement hose. I would also recommend to get some zip ties or hose clamps because the vacuum hoses may not be perfectly moulded and fitment may be a bit off.

Just installed today... A bit late on this... installed it at 120k. With age comes britality from hot-cold cycles. Clips cracked on the crankcase hose and the bottom CCV hose broke the turbo inlet pipe. $30 inlet pipe plastic aftermarket. CCV hose $50 aftermarket. I decided I'm in there so I'm installing metal...so got FTP metal turbo inlet pipe for $200. Well worth it but you need to drop the under-car panel to get to it not hard just takes time to do. The new CCV hose was great and came off after heating up for about 2 min. install was easy. I do have to push down my fender well rubber to remove the can though they don't mention that. I don't mind because it does keep things looking tight. Overall with metal turbo inlet new CCV hose and this catch can... 180 dollar project turned into a $450 catch can... but I made it more bulletproof so I don't mind!

Just an FYI. The strut tower bolts on my 2014 328i N26 was a 16mm not a 13mm. Also, what becomes of the oil that may accumulate in the catch can?
@mishimotorob57697 жыл бұрын
Hi ENMAR68! The strut bolts may be different sizes across the year range of fitments, but the installation procedure will be the same. The blow-by gasses that condense in the can also contain fuel vapor and moisture so the accumulated fluid should be disposed of in the same manner as used motor oil. There are many parts shops and automotive repair facilities that will recycle it for you. The contents of the can should be checked and emptied every 1000 miles until you establish a baseline for your vehicle. This will differ from car to car depending on the season, driving conditions and the area in which you live. We also offer a drain kit which includes a ball valve to quickly and cleanly drain the can for more convenient service. Hope that helps!

Module running the HID light interferes with the bracket. Could have been easily designed around but they clearly prototyped using a nonHID car. You can fab a simple extension to make it fit. I get so little amount of oil, I’m not sure it’s going anything.

Too bad this catch can configuration DOES NOT fit the N26 with Xenon lights. The Xenon ballast is located right in the location where the can sits. Do not buy this catch can if you have the F30 with Xenon.

Mishimoto Automotive I would suggest it be in a more prominent area. Upgraded headlights are very common as BMW’s have notoriously poor standard lights. Also, many third party vendors do not mention it at all. Luckily the lights box (ballast/ transformer?) mount is easily modified to relocate.

You need to inform your aftermarket sellers (i.e. FCP Euro) of this fitment problem. I bought from them, and got into the middle of the install, only to discover this problem AFTER OEM hoses had been destroyed to remove the CCV fittings.@@mishimoto

Hi@@gracilism . Can you give me an idea of HOW to modify this ballast mount? I forced the catch can into place, tilted at an angle, because I had already destroyed the OEM CCV tubing while removing the fittings (with the heat gun). I really do not want the catch can oriented at an angle, and interfering with the Xenon ballast, and could really use your wisdom on the issue! Thanks!

Direct-injection engines in general will benefit from a catch-can. It will help reduce the carbon build-up in your intake system and on your valves.
