BMW N43 3 series 2007 air mass flow sensor location

Removing and cleaning air mass sensor due to have ruff idle on cold start up and not having been able to find any video on N43 BMW engines on the location.
issues I'm having
1....
cold start ruff idle
2....
engine just doesn't feel like it's running right when idlesing even though idle is stable once the engine is warm .
3....
No error codes and I don't have a code ready that reads live data .
what have I done so far
1.... changed 2 coil packs as I had a misfire in cylinder 3 and 4 (engine management light on to get codes) swooped coil packs 3 and 4 with 1 and 2 and miss fires then showed up on cylinder 1 and 2 .
2.... I changed all spark plugs
3.... I removed and cleaned vanos sensors
4.... put some injector cleaner in the fuel
any more suggestions please comment below .. thanks

Sounds like egr valve could be choked up ,remove and clean with oven foam works a treat 👍

​@@diyandmetaldetecting Hi there. I'm still chasing a rough idle on cold start, plus occasionally much worse idle / almost stalling when restarting a hot engine. I've changed all plugs, coils and cleaned the throttle body butterfly valve. Will look next at cleaning the MAF. Also, do you know how to remove / clean the EGR valve on this N43 engine? Did you do this and was it a solution to your rough idle? Thanks.

Hallo my friend I have same german plastic bmw and same problem lazy idle etc. well 1- clean maf sensor whith only "maf sensor cleaner" 2 times 2 -change all 4 ignition coils and lgnition plugs at time sure be same all 4 3-change air filter 4- after 2-3 days clean maf sensor again This is solve my lazy idle problem whith minimum costs, whish you luck 🎉

Did you get to the cause of the rough idle? I have similar and suspect the breather valve which is part of the rocker cover, so may need to replace it.

I have the same issue. I've been living with it for 2 years now. Still no codes

Did cleaning air mass sensor solve your problem? I have no engien light on but experiencing same ideling and loss of power

No it didn't change it at all.... I wish the engine management light would come at least I could have a fault code to investigate....

Can you just unscrew the air mass flow sensor from the box and replace it?

@@1withforce not on 320i it's inside air box so all of it needs to be replaced

No I just carried on driving it with it like it ....it still passed its MOT last month so it can't be causing any issues with the emissions

@@diyandmetaldetecting have you got any tips or tricks for living with the very rough idle? do you let the car warm up in the morning etc?
