I use MHD black WIFI adapter fo Esys and Ista. It has a lan port as well. One issue though, during some Ista service tasks, where I need to turn the engine on/off, it shows "connection disrupted" errors..

This is an awesome video, following which I was able to navigate to the correct area in my i3 configuration using Launcher Pro 2.8.1 to change the nav coding from the business to professional screen size (which is plug-and-play on the pre-LCI cars), only to then discover that my PSDZDATA file must be too old for the vehicle as it wouldn't expand the options! I'm sure that I will get there eventually however...

Exchange of the ECU will be the same on F and G series. But activation of the navigation function itself in headunit will be different and depend of the heaunit type

Hello, i have a little question, i tried to connect to esys but at connection via vin there says no zgw availabe and if i connect with icom there says read fa failed! There is no FA stored in the VCM… What causes this problem? Would be very happy if someone can help

Sometimes it can happen that no FA can be read out. You need to force write it into the car and then you will be good. Doable remotely as well.

So, I bougt the ENET cable and hooked it up, waited 30 seconds, then inserted through ethernet directly. Ethernet could not recognise/establish connection whatsover. Do I have to install ENET wondows drivers first? O, i have a BMW i3 2020

No installation is required. Sometimes enet is faulty.

Of course it’s better if your laptop has built in RJ45 output. But new laptops do not have that any more. So usbc to RJ45 is only solution. But be a are that some RJ45 usb adapters might not be reliable. How to understand? You start flashing bmw and if it fails, then you know that current adapter was not the best one )

When you read the VO (16.13 min in) it shows the Vehicle Profile on the right hand screen and Active in green next to to the FA folder on the left hand screen. Neither of these are visible when i read my VO? I can expand the FA folder and see all the information (and edit it) but not sure why i do not see active next to the FA and the Profile information?

Yes CODE will code the factory settings. It will erase all previously made FDL modifications. So be aware of that.

I recently had an ECU swap on my f82, but it seems like the infotainment was not coded correctly afterwards, so that there are no M specific menu items available, nor is the bluetooth visible, nor is the ASD working, nor is there any sound in the speakers. Technically, my FA was not changed, as new ECU must have been cloned to my car (2016 m4), yet the HU seems to have lost all its factory coding. So I'm guessing, the CAFD file is somehow missing or corrupted and needs to be injected, instead of me going into FA and changing VO individually. Do you think I've got it right? (Im a total noob with E-sys btw)

Hi Vladimir, thanks for the explanation. I VO coded my G21 a mont ago with option 430 for the mirrors, now I looked to my option list by Mdecoder, but I can't see the changes. My previous car, a F34 i also VO coded when i added the front PDC and after a few weeks i looked to the option list and there it was changed. Any idea what the reason is? I also changed the suspension from Msport to normal and I also want to change that in the VO. I know i have to add the code 225 (normal suspension) and delete 704 (M sport suspension) but how can I code that into the car ( code FEM or REM or something else? Thanks.

Formation for Mdecoder and similar is taken from bmw servers not from your car. So while your car is offline then you can do what ever you want there, no changes on bmw will appear. But if you visit bmw dealer then some behind the scene magic happens.

It’s easy Press code on bdc ECU (make sure there is no HELC word in FA present) I suggest to make a backup of bdc before that procedure.

There are actually no special requirements. SSD should be big enough to fit databases (full data can weight around 300GB)

Cheatsheet will not help in your case. If cruise control is not present from the factory then some hardware modifications are needed (ecu replacement) and only then coding via FA

Hello Vlad, I have a question, can I erase the ISN from a EGS and write the proper software to pair with vehicle on ista or esys? Also, is there a way to flash the whole car back to its stock natural state using esys or ista? I have ista 4.39 and esys 3,8plus and I am wondering since I have a 2013 550i xdrive in my garage that just had a transmission swap but never had the EGS programmed to the car. You can revert to stock via esys You cannot revert ease ISN in EGS with plain esys Other tool or special esys is needed
