Hey there, I'm considering getting a 328i and had a few questions. Firstly, how would you describe the driving experience? Secondly, I'm interested in the cost of ownership - what are the typical maintenance and repair expenses each year? And how much does it cost to insure? As a first-time car owner, I'm not sure what to expect. Lastly, do you think the 328i would be a good first car for a high school student? And are there any specific pros and cons that I should be aware of? Thank you for your help!

Roughly the same I think. The main thing on the black top is that the valvecover is plastic and it WILL fail at around 150'000/180'000km. I need your help badly brother. My 2007 x5 overheated so much oil started dripping what I thought was the valve cover right under the valvetronic motor dripping onto the exhaust headers. I don’t see it leaking from the valve cover. I cannot see where it’s coming from there’s no room. There is oil inside the radiator fluid reservoir but the oil cooler unit is not leaking oil anywhere. It is totally dry around the oil filter. It’s only dripping right above the exhaust headers right below the valve cover so I don’t know if somethings cracked or if there is another gasket in that area that I don’t know about. Can you give me an idea of what the oil could be coming out of Oil is all inside the radiator fluid but the car still runs it just smokes. It does not seem like it has a loss of power actually almost seems a little faster it’s acting strange. My idol has been jumping up and down up and down since I put a cold air intake but I removed it and put a man filter. 0EM but it’s still jumps up and down I think maybe that it was not properly sealed when I put the cold air intake and dirt got in and ruined the throttle body or made it dirty anyway, I really need to find out where the oil is leaking from to fix it as soon as possible

Good afternoon Sir ,I have a question please I am struggling to find the best oil for my Bmw 320d 2015 pre lci ,I used 5w40 which made my engine sound like it struggling hard ,currently using 5w30 ,thinking to go 0w30 as per Bmw recommends, ( 0w30 and 5w30 )could I still use 0w30 even if the temperature reaches 30+ Celsius up to 40 degrees Celsius? As now of now using 5w30 engine sounds better and less strain thinking to go 0w30 would be better for engine strain ? Please advise me ,many thanks .

My question is, what really happens if you reuse the use once into magnesium bolts? Can you get away with a bit of Loctite and a lower torque? I have always been a bit scared of anything past the M54.
@Bigtigerr4774 Жыл бұрын
To answer your question, backing the answer up by my own stupid mistake when working in a garage: The heads of the bolts will snap off as soon as you start torquing them

So the bolts that come with it needs to be replaced? I have the n52 with the stock plastic valve cover and what’s the torque if I get new bolts

@@warnin6925 if you have valve cover black plastic one you do not have to change the bolts, it can be reused 👍

@@warnin6925 The torque rate is written on the valve cover with a yellow sticker: 8-9 Nm.

Owned various bmws for over 40 years. Always the same thing. Valve cover gasket oil filter housing gasket leaking. Somethings never change. Come on BMW.

I have a N52B25AE black cover, and CCV was exactly the same as silver cover, is that normal? I had heated hoses, one coming up from the crankcase onto the splitter, one coming out of the splitter into the valve cover, and one Y shaped one within the intake manifold. Does that mean I have an N52B25AE with an upgraded intake manifold?

Hello, planing to get BMW F10 528i 240 hp version N52 engine, what are the parts that you suggest to be changed on first maintanence, except for the common one, the car has 135k miles on in.

Hi, I have a 630i 2006 with N52 engine. 140,000 miles now with good history, the last few years being a private garage with excellent reputation. Car runs bang on but I will be pressing it into service as a motorway runner in a few months and hope to run it for perhaps another 18 months/ 40k ( ie to 180,000 miles total by then). Its quite low revving at motorway speeds and the mpg will be acceptable. Should I have all the prevention things done you mentioned ?? Maybe a "super service" . Just after opinion, thanks

I’ve recently sold my X3 35xi with N55 and looking at a 2010 528i with N52 engine, just wondering if 200,000 miles isn’t too much and if there are anything I need to watch out for?

Hi mate great videos much appreciated. I have a quick question regarding a 08 325i e92 I bought with a coolant leak from the micky mouse flange I changed this and noticed oil in the coolant thinking it's the oil cooler gasket. Would this cause the amber coolant/radiator light to be on as I couldn't reset it. Many thanks

Morning from over the pond Dr! Quick question for you. I have an 09 128i. During cold start the rpm will surge by about 200 rpm for about 8-10 seconds. Then it levels off at the high idle as it should till it warms up. I notice that at cold start, if i just blip the throttle, it immediate goes to its normal high idle as it should till it warms up. Otherwise car drives fine. With no codes. Any ideas?

Hi Dean - no where have you mentioned the vanos bearing ledge issues I bought a e90 325i 2007 with 150k on the clock and have been battling with the dreaded 2A87 code, changed both solenoids for bmw ones and still the code comes back soon as I floor the car. Engine light comes on
