Thank You. Only visible leak is on the 2nd coolant line (around 17 minute mark of your video) I’ll start with that and see how it goes. BMW wanted $3500 to replace all coolant lines.

@@dariusGarage thanks!! Do you recall if part # URO 11537578687PRM came with the cinch crimps or did you buy them separately? They look like 1/2 inch cinch crimps

@@Thomasz126it comes exactly as pictured on the website. I unpackaged that part at around the 18 minute mark, it does come pre clamped and I had to unclamp it.

Thankbyou for this video. Did you have to do a coolant flush as well?

Good DIY. Do you have a parts list of the items you used?
@dariusGarage6 ай бұрын
Thank you! These are the parts you can use for this DIY, you can buy them off Rockauto for a fairly affordable price. One of the parts URO doesn’t make/isn’t stocked by Rockauto so unfortunately a Rein alternative is listed. URO 11537578687PRM URO 11537577014PRM URO 11537577013 REIN CHT0684

I’m currently confused cause you said you used 3 parts but in the video I only see you using 2 parts I need to change the part Rein cht0684 but in the video I also don’t see you using the part number 11537577013 so I am wondering if you used the rein cht0684 because 11537577013 wasn’t available? I’m so confused bro I need to change my return lines

Did you ever replace the Y fitting thats under all those hoses? Im about to tackle this job on my 550i
@dariusGarage3 ай бұрын
@@kasmiester8 yes, I thought I put it in this video but I guess not haha! It’s under the bank 2 turbo inlet(driver side North America). Once you remove it it’s right there. You can use a brass t fitting or you can opt for URO aluminum y fitting with new insulated lines
@kasmiester83 ай бұрын
@dariusGarage Sounds good. Would I need to remove the other turbo inlet? Also what about the air filter housing, do you think I'd be able to leave that in place and just unbolt the Driver side (US) turbo inlet? Along with the V band on the charge pipe.
@dariusGarage3 ай бұрын
@@kasmiester8 you might be able to but honestly it’s not a big deal to take either of them out, taking the air box out will make taking the inlet out easier. They are fragile so be careful when removing it, you may want to order new red/orange seals for the inlet. The charge pipe will also possibly get in the way of the screw for the inlet. Remove the turbo to charge pipe clamp and flex the charge pipe out of the way, then access will be easy

How long did that take you do
@dariusGarage Жыл бұрын
The first attempt took half a day, the second attempt when I did it nicely was part of a week long intercooler upgrade. I would budget two days if possible in order to do a quality diy job

How did you purge the system ?
@dariusGarage5 ай бұрын
@@Kzimkaz self purge, fill coolant to the top, install cap. Start the car and get it up to operating temperature, let it cool off, then top up again. It should be good to go from that point according to BMW manual but I had to repeat the process once or twice after that.
