I saw a burgundy 85 524 td at my local gas station in 1989 filling up with diesel, the gentleman bought it new, I fell in love with that car, 2021 I saw it for sale in a yard, I bought it, he has passed away from cancer in 2019 and his widow hoped it would go to someone who loves it as much as he did. Yeah it's not a racer but it's a rare e28 turbo diesel that makes me extremely happy every time I drive it, I grew up driving old series Land Rovers in the 80's and 90's so that 121 horsepower is much appreciated over the 70 horsepower of my old Rovers.

Dude, absolutely spot on content. It's the simple pleasures that make being a car guy worthwhile most of the time. Doing a crazy swap or a big HP conversion is great and everything, but most of us can't achieve that stuff. So when you install fresh wheels and sort out the wheel gaps, that's relatable to most of us as it's attainable. Wheels and a drop is usually someone's first mod on their car. Well done Mike and Anthony, 1st class work.

@stanceworks couldn't agree more that these cars are truly special. I bought a non-running '84 528e 5spd in 2013 for $400, replaced a bad clutch master cyl, and drove it the same week. The upper part of the HVAC box was super melted from a previous blower motor fiasco so I parked it for a bit (2 years) while trying to save up for that/other parts and nearly sold it. FINALLY found the right parts, thrashed it back together, lowered it on Koni Yellows + BavAuto springs, and drove it daily to my first "real" job. I was lucky enough to buy a house in 2017 and I used it as my UHaul with a roof rack + basket. Its still waiting behind my dad's shop for some new front floor pans and a return to the road. I bought one used from a BMW dealership of all places..very cheap because of its miles and age and disclosed issues. gave it to my dad as a commuter car, he is a pilot for UPS and commutes three-hour round trips two times per week and he loves that 528. its quite and sporty.

I got into your channel because of the Ferrari and the hyper-nerdy build videos, but this is easily my favorite video you’ve ever made. When people in the future ask me why I love cars, this is the video I’m gonna show them. So wholesome, so authentic, and it feels… attainable? Relatable? I know I’m never going to build a bespoke racecar, but this feels like a life I could actually experience. This definitely has to do with my specific love of fitment/stance, but I don’t know if I’ve ever enjoyed a vlog so much as I enjoyed this one. Please make more of these :)

I had a 528 5-speed. Great car. Not in the same league as the 535 but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Can't argue with your taste, the sharknose era are THE real BMW's for me. Had a e28 528I then moved onto a e24 M635csi, 25 years ago (euro's since I live in europe) Loved them both and still miss them.

😎 honestly you always do it right, making simplicity and, or, over the top builds look 👀 absolutely priceless! To much! Or not enough! You got that touch of quality to whatever you touch! Proud of your passion, and jealous that I didn’t continue pursuing my passion and leaving a visual and physical artistic piece that will be a true part of me the world can experience!!!! Thanks buddy not everyone understands that a diamond in the ruff is the most beautiful expression of selflessness!
