I installed my Rallyeform skid plate last night. I used your idea of taping the washer and nut by just adding a tiny drop of superglue to fix them together. It worked great as did all your other tips. Thanks again!!

Hi Miss Lana ! I was wondering how a rider of your height would handle a 1000cc sportsbike like the Yamaha R1, the BMW S1000rr or the Honda CBR1000RRR considering the R1250GS is a pretty tall bike even in comparison to the aforementioned sports motorcycles and also very close in terms of engine displacement. Is there a difference in handling adventure/touring motorcycles compared to Sports bikes ?

Hi Galen, Perfect question. In a nutshell, for shorter riders, the mechanics of riding sports bikes are the same as for adventure bikes. Typical challenge is stopping with one foot and balancing a bike at slow speed. In the first video in my training series kzbin.info/www/bejne/anqwpY2wp9iZd7M I showed how to start working on your balance, and Aprilia Tuono was one of the bikes. It's similar to the ones your asked about in terms of weight, hight, and other characteristics. If you want to look deeper, 1250GS has a lower center of gravity, so one may think that handling it is a bit easier. People usually think that sports bikes are top heavy. Yes, they are. However, 1250GS's wet weight is 591 pounds, while BMW S1000rr wet weight is 450 pounds and Honda CBR1000RRR - 443 pounds. So in reality, the weight you need to manage is actually very similar. Said that, I should mention that there are elements/drills that sports bikes make very challenging, while 1250GS shines there. At some point, I'll make a video about this. Stopping with one foot and balancing a bike at slow speeds - is a skill. If one decides to learn it, they become a much safer and better rider.

@@LanaOnWheels Thank You ! As a new rider, this gives me a lot of motivation to practice stopping with one foot and be comfortable enough to ride a bigger bike someday !
