@@Schaaf i'm remember you few times ago during Triumph tiger 800 review, you tried to look for bike you want and you was interessed by trail. Maybe some day a boxer in your box if you are crazy 😂 big difference with my cb500 (my first bike, you inspired me 😎). After that i made a road trip to austria , 3700 km from France to grossglockner (last year)😍 with my vstrom 650 Amazing country. (Sorry for my poor english)

Looks like there is some fantastic riding out there with Toro. You probably have the best sound recording I've heard of a GS. If it was my personal bike I would be a little worried about how long the gearbox would stand the use of the quick shifter..... just seems a little brutal. Guess BMW think it's up to it or they wouldn't fit them.

yup, the gearbox is rough but definitely fine in the longrun. Riding with Toro is one of the best things I've ever did.

Beautiful place and the bike is gorgeous. Watching at the video the gearshift seems really rough when going up through the gears, much better in downshift where the Rev match is perfect, what do you think about it?

the shifts are rough in both directions but that's due to the boxer engine/gearbox layout. I like it because it makes things more exciting but for sure other bikes are a lot smoother

Eine frage, kann es sein dass du bei so gut wie jedem bike clutchless schaltest? Jetzt nicht unbedingt bei dirser gs da sie vermutlich einen Assistenten besitzt aber z.b. die 2018er street triple oder die 401er die du gefahren bist. Würde mich gerne interessieren:)

Also raufschalten tu ich tatsächlich fast immer ohne Kupplung. Runter dafür sogut wie immer mit, außer ich hab grad nen Selfiestick in der Hand oder sowas

your thoughts on this quickshifter? when using the GS I still use the clutch when changing gears without the throttle wide open. I still think it lacks smoothness IMHO

it definitely lacks smoothness but actually that also makes it quite fun to use to me.

Having quickshifter on this bike is must have in my opinion. I heard an GS without it, sound is shame. I also heard one with quickshifter and my mind was blown away, it's like thunderstorm compared to non QS. Both of those I saw had Akrapovic HP so it wasn't difference because of exhaust but it was because of QS. Even complete stock GS is expensive but I wouldn't buy a GS without it. And daylight LED too! 😄

actually it's the button to push the horn but I broke it while riding offroad so it was dangling free on one side ;)

Is this bike as good as everyone says? Got myself a ninja 1000sx, couldn’t reasonably afford the GS, didn’t even test it just to prevent myself from doing anything stupid

The SX is awesome. The Versys 1000 is awesome. I have time on both of them. I’ll sum it up. The Ninja 1k is like a Toyota Supra. The Versys 1k is like a 4 door Supra. The GS is like a lifted 4WD Porsche 911 with a truck bed. Those two Kawasaki bikes are some of my favorites…. Until I rode the GS 1200. The handling and balance on the GS is perfect. The braking on the GS is perfect. The wind protection on the GS is near perfect… the GS wind protection is so good it starts the argument of how much should a motorcycle have. The suspension is simply the best in the game, (with the one exception of Supersport bikes) The electronics are flawless The engine is a masterpiece, and a lot of people would argue the current boxer engine is the peak of road bike power plants. I have had a lot of bikes, and it is the only bike I would give the title of “excellent” Is the bike perfect? No. It has however gotten closer to perfection than any other bike I know about by a long shot. Refined. So many things about the GS are just so refined.

I've the identical bike, love it. Very good ride, but i suggest you to use more breaks and less the engin breaks. Break pads are usually cheaper than engines and clutches ;)
