BMW R1200RT Side stand switch failure

I had reservations about repairing this switch, as I was unsure how reliable it would be. A replacement switch costs £98.00 so decided there was nothing to loose.
My apologies for the sound quality. It was a spur of the moment recording and I may have had my hand over the Mic.
Please feel free to comment if you have any further ideas or improvements on the switch repair.

Hi DrRideWell. Thanks for the helpful tips. I was going to jump the side stand connector to remove it from the logic circuit as it was starting to play up. Took the switch apart and managed to lose the springs twice!! After 12 years and 66k miles there was not that much dirt and grime, so hopefully after cleaning the switch and re-assembiling it will last another few miles one my '05 R1200RT. Thanks,

Ya'll saved me $164.00 . Thank you for your video, at 103000 miles my 04 1150RT is showing some age as bits like this falter. Thank You from Dover, Pa

Hello from Austin Texas, and thanks for the post. my 2002 Rt1150 has an intermittent miss when cruising. This was a great help , hope it does the trick.

Ok so on the bypass you connect the red and white also tan wire's together. Mine will start now but cuts off in gear. Red and white connect only.

add some electrical grease to the springs . It works like glue.
